I like Monday Morning "Quarterbacking"! So here is my take... It is such a mental game when players start missing their shots in big games. We have seen it with all the latest coaches. Remember the championship game loss with Duke and Roy as coach in the 90s? We all know we didn't play like we had all year and during the tournament!
Every player expected to win fears the feeling of what it would be like if they lost in the tournament. One of the Morris twins mentioned that very thing during an interview. We play afraid to lose, on our heals and with less confidence. It is the "pucker factor"!
We played as underdog in '88
We need players to keep their focus and get cocky!
How do you get a team off it's heels and on it's toes? How do you get that "eye of the tiger"? That "I will show you" focus? When a team is the favorite, they tend to lose that edge. They play with confidence, but at their talent level, and not more than that. I personally, watching from a distance, have not seen a team that is stronger than this year's Jayhawks. They can strong arm any team, when they decide to. I have watched them do it too many times. I agree with you Keegan. We know what they need to do. It starts with the coach saying the right motivating words at the right time and finishes with the players competitive drive that makes them want to run through their opponent. We'll see soon enough.
It looks like most of you missed the point of the article. It is about KU Football and Todd Reesing! The rest of the stuff is Tom Keegan's sense of humor. Lighten up!

Tables, railings, KU in ’11
Bill Mayer is right and we all know it! He saw the slip coming. And he told you!
"Low-key KU tried to mail in the Northern Iowa victory, but UNI hijacked the postal truck." Too Funny Bill!

Kansas’ urgency lacking
