Mangino's contract outlines probe
I can understand the skepticism that some feel about the upcoming investigation results. However, where we're at is where we're at. I'm going to boldly suggest to remain calm until the investigation is over and then draw conclusions. I'm not going to say that I've agreed with every Lew decision, but I respect that he has advanced KU sports in his tenure. MM has done incredible things in his tenure for KU FB. There are many ways to spin the sorry situation, but I do think the investigation process needs proceed at this point.

The red uni's represent change. I thought it was a good win against Memphis. For the naysayers about the Central Arkansas game, I say this is an advantage of being an elite program and having the support and funds to bring in opponents into your gym. Perhaps not as valuable as the Memphis victory, but important in allowing all aspects of the starting unit and bench get some good playing time and gain some confidence. Many of us fans know that the competition will get significantly tougher as the season progresses and that games will feel more similar to the game on Tuesday. However, KU has superior talent an has the opportunity to develop chemistry against teams such UCA. Let's enjoy the season. RCJH

KU hoping to move ball better against UCA
The recent Memphis game reminds me of the Davidson game in the '08 tourney. An ugly win, but a win. To play that awful against an inspired opponent and still win is some testament to the pure talent and defensive effort of this team (and a little bit of luck). I know it isn't UNC tonight, but I expect to see intensity rivaling that 40-12 run this evening.

FINAL: KU survives Memphis, 57-55
KU just beat a pretty good team in a competitive environment with some young players with the pressure of #1 in a close game that will have some teachable moments. it can also be good to win games in which the Jayhawks aren't playing as well. not quite like '08; but nice to beat Memphis. RCJH

Early wake-up call
I disagree, soobawls. It's not mistakes that define one's character but how one responds to mistakes. It seems that Taylor is trying to bounce back from recent mistakes, and I know that he will be a major asset to this year's team.

Who is nation's "hottest" college basketball coach?
Self's team recently beat Roy's team. At one point 40-12. Self should deserve higher honors at this point in time...

Taylor welcomes family’s support
Good article about Tyshawn. I'm glad to hear he has the support in Lawrence. I miss the old bluegrass/punk rock days of the Crossing when Sin City Disciples would have to use a different name to keep the crowd more down. That said, Lawrence always has had a way to roll with the changes...there is still a very active scene there (The Jackpot, Replay, Bottleneck, Liberty Hall, etc.)
After recent visit to Boulder (which has it's nice aspects), I was reminded how truly unique Lawrence is in being a creative place. I see that being a constant for the foreseeable future...
