Early bowl projections
I'm pretty sure if Texas plays for the NC, the Fiesta doesn't have to take a Big 12 team, and there's no way they'll take Oklahoma again this year.

On the defensive
I guess he didn't get his hug before the TT game... now he needs two hugs.

New kickoff chant chosen to replace obscene one
The "new chant" will be a layer of solid background noise for the students' hillbilly chant. Might sound kind of cool, like a chorus.

KU soccer coach reprimanded
$2,500 for a low-revenue sport seems a little steep, unless the coach threw a punch or something. I wonder if one of the refs complained that the KU coach hurt his feelings.

Woodling: NBA Draft a joke
Just another homer diatribe.

All's well that ends well
Now I'm picturing everyone in the LJW sports department taking turns using one computer. It's actually quite the charming visual.Arthur's dumb luck in this whole deal is he wound up somewhere where he's got a shot at endorsement deals making fun of himself for his role in Memphis losing a NC. If any local businesses have adroit marketing people, DA will do just fine in non-salary compensation.

Final Four floor heading to KU
Dibs on the spot where Billy Packer's chair was when he told Jim Nantz the semifinal was "over" 7 minutes in.

Woodling: Reasons for bid scarce
jhyphene: what is a "mute" point?
This column is pointless. The BCS bowls strongly prefer not to take teams that lost their conference championship games. Mr. Woodling needs to bring himself up to speed on college football.

Woodling: Maybes abound for KU
At least someone is talking about KU football a few months before the season starts. And given the direction the non-con schedule has been loaded recently, it's good for someone to keep Mangino honest about his team's performance in conference.

Mayer: Coaches belong at colleges
A good column, and enjoyable to read, once you get past the strange suspicions of Self's commitment to KU. That said, the NBA back in Kansas City? Does anyone really believe this is in the cards?
