Opinion: Fake punt a risk not worth taking

Can we throw away all the blue pants with the thick red stripe? I don't think KU has ever played well in those clown pants. They are sooo ugly.

Spot on, Tom!
Weis needs to adjust his risk vs reward meter! This team is better than it appears, but they get thrown in to holes that they can't dig themselves out of.

KU turns attention to stadium revamp

I love the walk to the stadium. You can hear the band in the distance. Excitement builds with each step towards the stadium.

KU turns attention to stadium revamp

KU doesn't need to boil the ocean to start out this project. A must, and I mean as soon as possible is removing the track. Phase 1 should be remove the track, lower the field and put in a proper nice looking fence on the south end of the stadium. This would make Memorial about 100% better and not an embarrassment. Phase 1 should be in the immediate future. The nice to haves but not as critical would be the next phases and could be done over a 5 to ten year horizon. Phase 2 redesign/rebuild the north end zone bring the stands closer to the field (keep the cool exterior wall column look though). Phase 3 rebuild the east stands bringing them closer to the west stands. I hope KU focuses on the most important things and doesn't stall this project on non-essential nice to have features. Memorial is in an awesome location which makes up for a lot of deficiencies with the actual stadium.

Opinion: Charlie Weis too ambitious in trying to balance coaching, coordinating

Good post Oakville. We need some patience. It is tough though when the coaching keeps putting this team in holes due to gambling. Instead of valuing possessions and field position, the coaches take chances...the offense is not potent enough to dig itself out of holes. This was a theme last year too.

Overall, though the team is light years ahead of Gill's teams. The team is more organized and plays harder. They really should have at least 2 or 3 more wins if not more.

The bad decisions right before halftime has been a consistent theme with Weis...look back to ISU and KSU last year (I think there were more, but those are off the top of my head). If you are getting the ball back after halftime, don't give the other team a chance to get the ball (aka potential points). KU needs to value possessions and field position...we are not good enough to gamble with either one of those. Even with how bad KU's offense was tonight, this still should have been a 10 point win with the chances we had and how well the D played. I was impressed by the D, hope they can keep it up.

How about Mangino for OC...just joking.

Opinion: Receivers dropping? Go hand shopping

Just wanted to add, Mundine and Pierson have been very impressive catching the ball. Mundine had a bit of an off night last Saturday, but he was very solid last year.

Opinion: Receivers dropping? Go hand shopping

Exactly, whatever they are doing currently doesn't seem to be having positive results. It is doubtful anyone makes it to D1 without the ability to catch the ball...therefore it seems like the current drills/practice might be part of the problem.
