KU rallies, but suffers first loss
I'm usually not a fan of second guessing coaching decisions but I was absolutely shocked we didn't kick a field goal late in the 4th qtr on 4th down to make the game 34-33.
If we would have made it in the end-zone we still would have to stop Colorado, so to win, we would have to get the ball back. KU had no problem getting the ball into FG position in the 2nd half and Branstetter was on a roll.
I'm guessing the coaching staff felt they would have two chances to get it in the end-zone but..

KU’s Morningstar suspended
These comments about kids will be kids is missing the point. Yes, kids will be kids and make mistakes but the coaching staff has a poor job of keeping these players in line. Whether you like it or not that's a part of their job. There has been a lot of these incidents under Self and it needs to be addressed.

Sharp ‘upset’ to sit
ditto ProudKansan. Not only misleading but there wasn't even a quote from Sharp. I think any player would be 'upset' if they couldn't play because of an injury. “I’m sure Jake’s a little upset,” KU receiver Kerry Meier said.

NCAA rules place limits on fan enthusiasm
This is impossible to regulate. What stops a Kansas fan from starting a site for a rival school in order to get them in trouble with the NCAA. How can they prove what school I really support?
I think this is a CYA for KU and other schools. There's no way the NCAA can hold a school responsible if they are trying to prevent this type of activity.

Collins, Aldrich announce plans to return to KU next season
That's great news!
However, for those of you that will be disappointed in anything short of a NC next year, please remember that there has been better teams at KU that weren't able to bring home the hardware. Let's keep expectations realistic and enjoy next season no matter what happens.

What was that music?
Don't have time to read the other responses but my feeling is that the crowd is being taken out of the game when the music becomes center stage. Every year I've been to the games since 92' the crowd seems less and less the main attraction.
Further more, I love the video played before the start of the games but I HATE how load the music is. you just don't need it. Allenfield house is loosing some of its class.

Gary Bedore’s KU basketball notebook
Jaybate; did you read the article? Can he rebound? 13 per gameCan he defend? 7+ blocks per gameCan he take people up with him as he finishes? what does this mean? Can he jump? he's already 7' tall...Does he look out for his buddy? again, what does that mean?Plus he has range...Yes, there is a diff. btw H.S. stats and college but these are good number none-the-less.Being humble doesn't necessarily mean he'll be meek around the basket. Trust Self to evaluate the talent coming in...

KU to retire Hinrich’s No. 10
Looks like Roy has a game on 2/28 and another on 3/4 so maybe that's why it's scheduled for 3/1. It would be interesting to see how the crowd response now that Bill gave us the championship that Roy didn't. Between that and the KU sticker he wore during the title game should help him get a well deserved warm welcome.

Case joins Self's KU basketball staff
I can remember plenty of times when Roy would publicly chastise a player for not performing. Something I think Self has had problems doing because he wants to be liked by this players. IMHO Of course, now that he has a title under his belt I think he's earned enough credibility to get after them a little more.btw, Roy would generally get after someone for lack of hustle, not physical limitations. If the player was being asked to do something beyond their abilities then it is the coach's fault for not accurately determining what they would be capable of doing at the next level.Ostertag comes to mind of course:sad thing is he ended up having asthma. The times I remember Roy taking all the blame is after loses when asked directly by the media "did (x player's) performance cost you the game"I think it was the AZ game in 1997 when Roy was asked if Haas's injured wrist cost KU the game because of his pour play. (I'm paraphrasing) "I recruited him, I taught him how to play, and I decided to play him in the game".That's a philosophy I use in my own business to this day.

Border crossing
I've always heard the comparison between Haas and Sutherland and I hated it. Not even a close comparison!
