What if KU stuns Texas?

acsgreens - There is a line between beign a dominant power coach and being an abusive coach. I would think that looking some of the top programs of the day, would anyone say that Pete Carroll, Jim Tressel or even Mack Brown have anger issues? Looking at them, I'd say it is possible to be a successful coach without being a complete jerk about it. Besides, it sounds like this may go beyond the alleged verbal abuse. If there were injured players that were rushed back or punished to the point that it caused other injuries, then that is unacceptable. That's what the investigation will determine, how far things went, and we all need to let this take its course before we pass any final judgements, pro or con.

Robinson not just a ‘motor’

derringer - Richard Scott remains one of my favorite KU players of all time. He was 6'6", but played like he was 7'6". He never took a play off and is a very undervalued former player, in my opinion.

Getting a leg up

Aweome article. I never realized the intracacies of the special teams units. I guess it shouldn't surprise me, but I've honestly never given it much though before. Great insight!

Well, then Roy is just as guilty (suits to graduates and money to the Jackson family) because they happened on his watch. I guess my point is that all big time programs have run afoul of the rules at some point. Why needlessly rip on another big time program when we have done stuff as well.

Wow. I'm confused by this article. Between the sentence fragments and outdated references, I'm thinking he is saying that Kansas and UNC are so much "cleaner" than Kentucky. Now, I am a Jayhawk through and through (and I truly dislike UK), but this article reminds me of something you would read on a discussion board, not in a newspaper. The phrase "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" jumps to mind. Funny that Mayer doesn't mention anything about what happened on Larry Brown's watch (ensuring KU would be the first champion unable to have a chance to defend their title). Nor does he mention what happened on Roy's watch (the same Roy that is heading up UNC's program now). Also there's the fact that Calipari has already been cleared in the troubles at Memphis by the NCAA. KU may not have the frequency of "issues" as UK, but to take this issue this far considering what we have in our closet is pretty embarrassing.

The Kansas baseball team is headed to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2006.

Coastal Carolina is called the Chanticleers.

Henry brothers close to making decision; father says no visit to Kentucky, but later says visit on tap

"For us to expect a freshman to come in and be the piece of the puzzle to help us win that coveted title next year is a farce."

Oh how soon some forget the bitter heartbreak that was 2003...

clicker - Yeah, I know UK has Helms titles too. So does UNC. I guess I count them as titles, but only different. LOL

joel - I was at the 150-95 drubbing as well. It was a thing of beauty. Of course, it probably wouldn't have been so bad had Pitino not insisted on pressing the whole game.

kushaw - I'm not discrediting the Helms titles. I'm very proud that they have been awarded to KU. What I am saying is, in that day and age, all they could go by was records of games in order to award the titles. The people who awarded the Helms titles probably didn't see any of the games of the teams they were voting on. People are all the time up in arms about coaches today voting for college football teams when they know they don't have time to watch many games besides theirs. In this case, there weren't even videotapes or reruns of games to watch. I guess I'm a bit leary of putting as much weight on Helms titles that were voted on by a panel founded in 1936 for teams that played up to 35 years prior to their founding. I respect the Helms championships for what they are, but I still don't give them the same weight as the titles that KU won on the floor.
