Former coach Fambrough still spirited

Since Coach Fambrough goes to near every KU football practice, and says he's never seen Mangino mistreat KU players, that's good enough for me and should be good enough for Lori and Perkins. Who would know better than Fambrough about this matter, with a perspective that is taken from close up near daily? No one.

Mangino's communication with Perkins has been 'practically none'

If Lori comes back to Lew with nothing but gossip fit for a manure spreader only, does that mean Lew will publicly apologize to Mangino for this witch hunt, and at the same time seek to smooth things over by declaring the new Gridiron Club at Memorial Stadium will be named after Mark Mangino? Sorry, but Lew looks like a piker on this one: he has no choice but to fire Mangino to save face and limit the serious damage already done to the football program by this witch hunt. What a frick'n circus, Lew! Take center ring!

KU running back Opurum out against Missouri

Will Toben's injury be cause for the KU Athletic Dept to call in both the FBI and CIA to investigate the KU football program further, seeking to verify or dispell rumors that Toben's injury was caused by Coach Mangino poking Toben in the leg while seeking to convey a "teachable moment"? Will Lew have Lori now quickly look into Jake Sharp's income tax returns for the past five years to gauge whether or not Jake is fit to remain on the team for the Mizzery game?

It's a frick'n circus on Mt. Oread these days! Time to replace "Home on the Range" at KU football games with the song "Send in the Clowns".

Sade Morris scores career-high 26 points in KU women's 77-66 win over Michigan

Will we hear tomorrow that the KU Athletic Dept has launched an internal investigation of the women's basketball program, after the Dept heard rumors that some of the women players were [abhorrently] talking during study hall last week, several were a few minutes late to their tutoring sessions two weeks ago, and too many of them just plain watch too much Oprah on TV?

FINAL: McCoy leads Longhorns over Jayhawks, 51-20

Does Mangino have any college eligibility left? If so, he should tear off his letter jacket, suit up, and put his considerable back side on the D-line to shore up a near pathetic lack of skill. How about Bowen? Any eligibility left?

UT cruising, unfortuately. Time for the Jayhawks to call time out, pull the plug on the stadium lights, and get out of Dodge in the dark!

Am watching KSU-NU on TV during commercials of the KU game. Boring. Two bad teams; both an embarrassment to the Big 12. And Pelini is frick'n scary with that gum chewing. A "which-school-has-the-best-maunue-spreader?" contest between KSU and NU would be better than their football game!

Wright’s role clarified

Lew, why wait till now to correct the record, when you knew all along (for over a week) that the "news story" re Artist Wright being the informant was flat-out wrong?

Perkins' motivation is clear: get rid of Mangino, let Mangino twist in the wind, let fiction rule the day. Oh, and the new KU Chancellor just weighed in, saying she supports Perkins. Surprise, surprise! Are we sure Cinderella or Mr. Ed (the talking horse) didn't whisper in Lew's ear, telling him about Mangino "The Hun"? No, wait, it was Donald Trump who ratted on Mangino. Right, Lew? This is a frick'n circus!

Maybe Perkins and Little-Gray should be the ones calling the moving van company, setting their the date of their one way trip-out-of-Lawrence.

Drama takes away from game

Mt. Oread has lost it. Lew will ask Mangino to check into the Peter Pan Anger Management clinic. Mangino will blame the KU Parking Dept for prompting Lew to make such a request. Lew will then replace Mangino with Stanley Redwine, KU track and field coach, for the balance of the season, while trying to woo KSU's Bill Snyder to take over the KU football program in 2010. Lew will announce plans to expand Memorial Stadium by 30,000 seats, with 29,999 of those seats reserved for high rollers and big donors. The song "Home on the Range" will be replaced at KU football games with "Send in the Clowns".

Mangino wins games, not friends

Well stated, Tom. This situation won't end up positive in any way. KU does not have a Bill Synder type to rely on to maintain stability and confidence should Mangino leave. KU football is again in crisis, and that is sad.

Investigation of Mangino launched after player complains coach poked him

Over the next several months, I predict Mangino will lose 300 pounds, Frank Martin of KSU will become the LA Lakers next head coach, Bobby Knight will open an anger management resort, and Charlie Weiss will become a Catholic priest and be named the Chancellor of ND in South Bend. Oh, and Lew will fire Mangino and appoint Stanley Redwine, KU's track and field coach, as interim head football coach at KU, while Lew wooes KSU''s Bill Synder to take over the KU football program, starting in 2011.

Is KU football worst in Big 12 this season?

Yes, I'm sorry to say, we're likely at the bottom presently; and I don't realistically see how KU will be selected for a bowl, even if they find a way to beat Mizzery. Who would extend a bowl bid to a team that is this bad, with wins over ISU (barely) and perhaps Mizzery, losing to everyone else except four cream puffs to start the season? Texas will likely grind us to hamburger this week, seeking to bolster their BCS rating. And who would we play in a bowl, if offered? The University of Southern North Dakota? It's been a shocking season.
