Keegan: Rush, offense clicking
"I don't know why (the team is shooting better)," Rush said. "Everything's falling for us. We're taking good shots. We're not forcing any shots. We find the first man open to take a shot." It sounds like Rush does know why the team is shooting better. Go Rush! Go 'Hawks!!

Creamed corn
Wright said it best, "It's just focus, being aggressive but playing within the system." What more can you say? If the players will just listen to Coach Self and play within his system with focus, they will win. We're also far enough along in the season that quick benching of players for not listening, even if for a few minutes, will remind them of that simple rule. Go Self! Go Wright!! Go Rush!!! Go 'Hawks!!!!

KU puts up; Bears shut up
Good game overall, but there were moments when they let Baylor off the hook by shooting the perimeter shot too early without any penatration. This will be an exceptionally good video to review as the coaches can point to all of the smart and intense play when the Jayhawks were building their lead, along with plenty of examples where they forgot their lessons and paid the price. Until they learn to play smart for a larger share of the 40 minutes, they will continue to periodically lose heartbreakers and the coaches will add to their growing list of videos showing what not to do. At least it was another Big 12 road win, and hopefully they'll learn from a review of their lapses in judgment and periodic sloppy and lazy play. Go 'Hawks!

Storm warning
Not outcouched. Just outplayed. If the comeback had been successful, this would have been one to talk about for a long time. Though no one play resulted in the loss, the inability of the officials to recognize the shot that clearly didn't draw iron with the Texas Tech shot clock winding down, even after a careful review of the video and the ticky-tacky foul called on KU with 5 seconds left on the Raider shot clock should serve as reminders why you don't ever want to end a game so close that you leave your fate to chance and to the officiating crew. The Jayhawks will recover. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. This game did not end their season and they will rebound from this sad day stronger than ever.

Collins' career night gets KU round one over MU
Talk about doing it the hard way. Good that they keep winning the nail biters, but this could catch up with them. Maybe in the first round in March. When we keep letting it get so close at the end, we invite luck to play a role. One missed call, one bad pass, one miracle shot by the opponent, and we get to go home with our tail between our legs, to dream again of what could have been. This team must learn how to manage possessions at the end to stretch a lead so that they get to determine their own fate. A win is always better than the alternative, but I wouldn't complain if they won a few more games by a slightly larger margin. Okay, enough negative comments for now. Congratulations on pulling out yet another conference win. Keep up your winning ways. Go 'Hawks!

Rush hushes Hilton
It would be easy to pick apart the game, but to what end? Self will help the team learn from their errors, especially how to execute more effectively at the end of regulation when only 1 point was needed and the player with the ball could have driven with the knowledge that the other team was going to go to great lengths to avoid a foul of someone almost guaranteed at least the 1 point needed to win the game. Still, it was the team's first conference road game and they came away with the win. Not evey game is going to be like OSU at Allen. Great teams find a way to win. Some big names in the Top 25 didn't do that on the same day, so let's put it all in perspective and congratulate our team on pulling a tough one out in front of a hostile crowd when it really counted. Go 'Hawks!

Image is everything
Let's just hope they can get a win in Ames without suffering any casualties. Hilton will always be a tough place to play and the Cyclones wil throw everything at the Jayhawks in an attempt to make a statement in front of their fans that they intend to be a force in the conference this year. Robinson is right. Let the scoreboard do the talking. The Jayhawks are showing signs of improvement. A road win against a highly competitive Iowa State team would show they intend to continue to improve throughout the season. Go 'Hawks!

Kaun latest big man to have big game
With the Bigs finally starting to find their game, the Jayhawks add yet another ingredient critical to success. Keep improving. Now, take the next step with a conference road win in Cyclone territory. Go 'Hawks!

Rock 'em, sock 'em
The next step is to show the same solid play and intensity at Hilton. The confidence factor may finally be up to snuff. At the home of the Cyclones they will need all their mojo to take the crowd out of it and win their first conference road game. Go 'Hawks!
