KU moves up to No. 2 in coaches poll, No. 3 in AP

Is good to temper high rankings with realistic qualms about overconfidence in March.....

....BUT it doesn't hurt recruiting to be mentioned at the top all the time, so I'll take #1 or 2 or 3 any day of the week.

Great job, Hawks!

KU football misses out on recruits

Bummer...but losing recruits to Arkansas and Nebraska sure beats losing them to some no-name teams I suppose. I remember the days we'd constantly lose recruits to random schools like Northwestern and Memphis...ugh.

Family man: KU’s Travis Releford relishes fatherhood

Great story! I didn't know he had a son. Is neat seeing other sides of players.

I have a 2-year old son, too. It's not hard to be proud of your little man when they grow up so fast and emulate everything you do. He sounds like a great pops.

Best of luck to Travis!

Former KU coach Mark Mangino on Colorado's radar

Yeah, but he still won 5 games. I'll take a one down year vs. 2-10 or 1-11. We don't really know that KU was in an inescapable dive because he didn't have more seasons after that.

Maybe his next year would have been 6-6 or something? Who knows? I think Gill just had low discipline with his players and the same guys could not perform as well for him as for Mangino.

I don't think he was flawless at all.....but I'd say he was respectable and could at least keep KU at .500 and maybe dip above it occasionally. Hell....i'd love a bowl game about now, any bowl!

Former KU coach Mark Mangino on Colorado's radar

Mangino would be a great hire. He took KU from a doormat to a respectable team.

Even if 2007 was a fluke, he still had really good years in 03, 05, 06 and 08. Let's not pretend like Mangino was just a lucky guy one 11-1 season. He had our program well-disciplined, something that fell apart under Gill and is now just getting repaired......

Black and blue: KU drubbed by Iowa State, 51-23, in final home game

Ugly loss and even uglier uniform/helmet combination!

I think they had a good look during the Reesing years. We should just stick with that.

Elijah Johnson least of Jayhawks’ worries

Sports Illustrated curse, anyone? lol. He was on the regional cover for the week and I was a bit confused as to why it was him and not Withey....

Opinion: Big 3 — Klein, Snyder, Self — help Kansas save face

I agree with the premise of the article, but it totally fell apart at the end. Keegan needs to sharpen up his writing.
