If you only read the sports section, you would have missed that the article was the top story on the ljworld site, at least as of this morning.

Listened three or four times.....maybe something about "will he be the starter"?

Realignment Today: Is Florida State still in play for potential Big 12 expansion?

Yeah, if you don't count 2/3 of the original membership, no ties at all.

Realignment Today: 3:44 p.m. update — KU coach Bill Self chimes in on realignment; ACC expansion and more rumors from Big Ten country

I count TWO major players that are in the Big 12......incredibly curious how you come up with 5. And current on the field success is a factor, but if that's your criteria, why is KSU in no one's cross hairs as a good candidate to be poached? Why did WVU switch conferences (and apparently do so with no interest from the Big 10, SEC or ACC)? Who else is your "power player" in the conference as it pertains to realignment?

There are two schools in this conference that other conferences may really WANT. Others, us included (except for MAYBE the Big 10 being a bit interested), would be schools that other conferences might tolerate if we tagged along in some sort of deal. I don't like it, but it's pretty much the truth as I see it.

You guys act as though the decision makers care what fans want. You can be pissed all you want, and it won't make one lick of a difference. Even if you don't like it, you have to accept that the fans' concerns have been last on the list for the last three years of realignment and whining about it won't do any good.

Realignment has been and is happening, and the only concern we need to have is to make sure that KU ends up in a major, relevant conference when it's all said and done.

In what metric is FSU not qualified academically to get in the Big 12? Obviously there are a lot of ways to rank schools, but at least one major ranking US News, has FSU at 97. For comparison, UT is 46 (and highest ranked Big 12 school I believe), BU 77, KU 106. And for comparison for one of the big targets everyone seems so keen to get, Louisville? They are ranked 160.

The Big 12 needs to go get FSU and perhaps Clemson, GT or some other ACC school NOW. To stay at 10 basically signs our death warrant as a major conference. Why do people think realignment is going to stop now? It's happened 3 consecutive years, and for two of those years, the Big 12 was in grave danger. Now, we aren't, but inaction will put us back in danger. If you don't get to at least 12 and pick up another couple of football schools (and new geographic markets) you will not survive this. The Big 10 and SEC may or may not go to 16 now, but you can almost guarantee they will at some point. 10 teams in the midwest will not cut it against 16 team megaconferences.

Black and blue: KU drubbed by Iowa State, 51-23, in final home game

So exactly what do you think the fans could have "demanded" last night? There were over 40,000 people there to watch a 1-9 football team. And the team fell flat on its face. I hate when fans bail early, and I was there until the final seconds ticked away, but as you point out, the team sucked last night against a very mediocre Iowa St. team. So we can yell and demand, but how does that help the defense not give up 550 yards?

The basketball only fans are a cancer, no doubt. But your post certainly comes off sounding like you gave up on the team. And yet, you lambast fans for doing exactly that. Can't have it both ways.

The way your comment reads is that you think Doege came out of nowhere against us. If that's true, you illustrate perfectly that you have no clue about college football. The guy is ranked 3rd in passing yards in the nation. He's been over 300 yards in all but 3 games and went for nearly 500 against WVU.

And if this is a "good riddance", I don't think the football team needs "fans" like you anyway.
