Despite WR success, Meier still wears red
CaliHawk - you're right about Welker being a great athlete - the comparison to him was more that he's a team player and does everything the team needs him to do to win. Ward, too, is a heck of an athlete, but neither he nor Welker are generally compared to TO, Ocho, or Steve Smith, when the sports yaks are talking about the super duper receivers. However, I'd rather have Ward, Welker, and Meier as the receivers on my team than the other three.

Despite WR success, Meier still wears red
67 - Agreed. And, because of his attitude and work ethic, I think he'll make an impact at the next level; in the vein of Hines Ward or Wes Welker. Not outstanding athletes, or super-flashy problem receivers like T.O. or Ochostinko, but a guy who does everything right, even the little things like down-field blocking, and cares more about the team than individual stats.

Collison to attend Hinrich ceremony
Ron Kellogg,
Chalmers would have had his jersey hung under the older, more strict, guidelines.... he was the tournament MVP, or MOP, or whatever they're calling it now. So he, at least, would not be "watering down."

Clutch Collins tops competitive rankings
kc_wildfire,
No doubt Taylor was great in the first half, but when they score the points is probably more important than how many they score. When three different OU players tossed up threes in their run at the end of the game, Collins was able to come back down and answer with threes of his own to quiet the crowd for a moment and keep KU in it. Dude wants the ball in his hand in big moments, and that is huge.

Aldrich has interests outside of hoops
It's funny how Hansbrough is still getting all this preseason hype this year, and nowhere in any of those stories do they mention how he was absolutely OWNED by Aldrich.I think if he can stay out of foul trouble, Aldrich is going to be one of the better bigs we've had in a while. I'm really looking forward to this year.

Lawrence listed No. 15
Okay, Phoenix? Really? I live in Phoenix, and except for the Suns, this city could care less about any of its franchises. I've been to games for each of our "pro" teams, and except for the Suns, the games are never sold out unless a big name team is playing them here (e.g. when the Steelers play the Cardinals or the Cubs or BoSox play the Diamondbacks). I'll buy some of the other cities being higher than Larry, but not Phoenix.

Chalmers to stay in NBA Draft, forego senior season at KU
Thanks for the shot, and thanks for three great years in a Jayhawk uni. Good luck at the next level.

Chalmers likely staying in draft
As a 'Hawks fan, I really want Mario to stay... but as a resident of Phoenix and a Suns fan, I would love to see him come in here and back up Steve Nash for a couple of years before taking over the team himself.Whatever you choose, Mario, thank you for coming to KU and best of luck.
