Probe aims to determine if Mangino went too far
I don't think Lew "wants" to fire MM. He's between a rock and a hard place. And as for Lew not doing anything good for KU, that's pure crap. He isn't Jayhawk football, but he has done a lot to help build a program that's supported, that's successful. When I was in school from 96-2000 no one gave 2 scents about football. There was no one on the hill, in the parking lots on the east or west sides tailgating. People care, and they show up and both Lew and MM deserve credit. As for the accusations, let them do the investigation and handle it from there. To me, it doesn't sound like a fireable offense. Going 1-5 with this team would be a better reason to sack MM than poking someone in the chest...

Dugan Arnett’s KU football notebook
100, i agree. all this talk of heisman and too much thrown at the D means nothing unless we beat CU. In case this teams doesn't know it, nothing is guaranteed, including a win in Boulder.

A Lew Perkins contract one of questions raised in KU management audit
i agree with Chris, seriously. if Lew doesn't care about KU's athletes he wouldn't go to bat for them in upgrading the facilities, including the towers. he may not invite the athletes over for dinner but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about their well being or success while they're in school. of course he likes his paycheck and the perks, who wouldn't? kubbjunkie, what makes you say that? do you have evidence?

Bucs’ CB Talib arrested for allegedly hitting cabbie
grampy, your BB comment about us winning the NC has absolutely no relevance to this article. i can't stand Mizzou either, but they are relevant b/c they're our biggest rival and they're in our division.
sucks to hear one of our former football stars in trouble. i thought and hope Aquib has better character.

Re-turfing at Memorial Stadium
LAJayhawk, it's field turf. it's not artificial turf from the 80's but it's not real grass. there's some articles about it and what it's made of on here. same stuff that's on the new practice fields. OCJHAWK, wish I could agree with you. if we had this year's team with next years schedule I would. Still going to be a good year. Rock Chalk

KU will play North Dakota State at 11:30 a.m. Friday
well, well. missery wins something that doesn't mean much and they're 1 fan decides to post on the LJW. how cute. if you're trying to get a rise out of Jayhawk nation you probably won't considering this "not our year" brought us a regular season league title. (and that whole April 7th thing last year...championship). if that's what our young Jayhawks did this year, what about next year when we have the same team plus some new young talent? maybe you should think before you speak... anyone worried about WVU? or seen much of them?

Time for new beginning
It would be great to lower the field and put in more seats, Terry Allen always use to talk about that. But, he couldn't get it done on the field and didn't know how to build a D-I program. The only thing I would really like to see is the track removed so Memorial has a better football look. Although, that extra homefield advantage would be nice...ps are KU students really that bad?

State of the art: part II
i believe the renovation has already begun on one of the towers. i think the plan is to do one at a time, kinda like the Res Halls. Not sure what the time frame is, but i know if you search the archives of LJW you can find a story or 2...
