Who does Jesus cheer for?
Jesus cheers for whoever Missouri is playing. It's true, he told me.

Self not surprised with preseason poll
Aldrich played significant minutes last year? Didn't he play about 10-12 minutes a game more than Morningstar last year? Regardless, it's time to reload. Texas here at the end of the season could have implications on determining the conference champion.

Jayhawks-to-be get a little good press
Easy on the Roy comments. As much crap (much deserved, by the way) as he gets for his comments about not being able to recruit east coast kids to Kansas, I think Roy did a pretty dang good job of bringing good players to Lawrence. High school studs are a dime-a-dozen...it's what they do when they get here that really matters. How heralded was Gooden when he got here? He was the third best player...in his class at KU (when he got here)!!

Honors rolling in
I heard an interview with a guy this morning from Sporting News that played a big role in picking Hansborough. He said over and over how close they are, and that it's like splitting hairs between Hansborough and Beasley. He said in the end he couldn't get the Beasley's performance in the Xavier game out of his head, and that ultimately that was something that gave Hansborough an edge. Interestingly, he said it had nothing to do with his stats in that game, rather more with his effort and leadership. Beasley will be a better pro, I believe. I don't think that should have anything to do with a college player of the year selection, though. Hansborough is pretty dang good, so it's hard to say he doesn't deserve it. It's a good debate.

Woodling: Reasons for bid scarce
KU is deserving of a BCS game, so is MU. The limit of one at-large per conference is the core of the issue, not the fact that the Orange Bowl picked KU. If the OB wanted KU over MU, so be it. It's their game, they issue the invitation. MU should be mad at the Rose Bowl for taking Illinois, ranked 13 in the BCS. That's the team that doesn't belong in the BCS picture. What if the top 10 BCS ranked teams, regardless of conference, were placed in the 5 big bowls? It's a mute point. I'm tired of hearing about why MU deserves it over KU. MU also deserves it over USC, West Virginia and Hawaii according to the rankings. Bottom line: the BCS needs tweaking. In the meantime, I love to hear MU whine about it. Fantastic!! Happy Holidays.
