KU running back Opurum out against Missouri
It's been a Murphy's Law type of season for Kansas. :(

Longhorns roll over embattled KU
“Let me tell you something that’s really important that’s on my mind. I have a player — D.J. Marshall — who’s in Tulsa, Okla., in a cancer center. He just started his chemotherapy this week. That’s called a bad week. I’ve had a great week.”
Life is more important than football.

KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins
If Perkins fires Mangino (and I hope he doesn't - Mangino should be given another season), at least be professional enough to do so AFTER the season. There are rumors going around that Mangino might be fired before the Missouri game. That would be classless. Perkins, remember: Your predecessor (Al Bohl, who fired Terry Allen with three game left in the season) was classless, and that's why you're the KU AD and he's not.

Mangino denies validity of former player allegations
Let's say Mangino does get fired, and a new guy comes along. If I were the new guy, the first thing I would do is dismiss from the team any player who called for Mangino's firing. I don't feel like I could trust any player who was so disloyal to his coach as to call for his firing simply for doing what football coaches do!

FINAL: Morris twins shine in KU's 94-44 victory over UCA
Half the gym was not empty! I saw the game on TV, and it was a full house until the final five minutes!

Wonder what prompted HCBS to break out the red uniforms? Not a complaint or anything...
But I wish he'd have KU wear red more often, particularly against Kansas State and Missouri.
Heck, it'd be fun to see KU in yellow, like that game against Western Carolina back in '87!

Drama takes away from game
Perhaps Mangino should give these guys some baby bottles. These guys are being total pansies. Football coaches are supposed to be mean and nasty. Nice guys (Bob Valesente, Terry Allen) run programs into the ground.

KU hoping to move ball better against UCA
Can't a team have one bad game (which they won, BTW) without everyone complaining about how bad they look?

Not-so-gentle reign
To succeed in this sport, you have to be pretty mean and nasty. That was why Glen Mason had more success than Bob Valesente, and that's why Mark Mangino has had more success than Terry Allen. Mangino coaches old school. Let him do his thing. These players should listen to Brandon McAnderson; he knows what he's talking about!

Mangino wins games, not friends
You know, if Perkins fires Mangino and uses the players' BS as an excuse to avoid a buyout, there's going to be a nasty lawsuit, kinda like Bob Knight with Indiana, Jim O'Brien with Ohio State, Billy Gillispie with Kentucky...
Oops, I'm only listing basketball coaches. When was the last time a college football coach sued a school because they refused to give him his buyout?
