The Jayhawks rode Todd Reesing's four total touchdowns to an easy 49-3 victory against the Northern

Great game audio and nice camera work from the local guys. Good job.

Briscoe, three others to miss UNC game

Settle down Jayhawkr34, I'd be willing to bet good money that Briscoe's suspension is in response to his highly publicized spring/summer work ethic/academic problems. This is a non-issue now and is being dealt with as Coach sees fit.

Kansas Athletics to give $40 million to academic programs at KU

Stands or removable bleachers might be an option for south end seating. I don't know realistically how much seating could be created that way or if it could be done in a manner that is aesthetically pleasing. Still, until we can sell out Memorial for every game, all of this is moot.

Jayhawk Flashback: Oklahoma, 10/4/97

Man, those announcers were terrible. I mean, no offense if either of those guys happens to still be around. But, really?? You had to check the media guide to know whether Gale Sayers' famous 99 yard TD run was actually 99 yards? "Uhh, what was Gale Sayers' record?". "We're lookin it up..." Really? Those were some dark days for KU football, so I guess anybody willing to do a play by play must've had at least a shred of fanhood. Anyway, did you see the size of those kids out there playing? Things sure have changed alot in 12 years.

Kansas must start 6-0

Two of 'em picked Colorado? whoa. I'm a little miffed at the lack of respect for KU, but hey, I bet the players are too. What'dya say? Keep sawin wood, Boys.

Stadium renovations in exploratory phase

If they're building new skyboxes it means that currently there is a waiting list full of wealthy alums who can't wait to shell out. Once the new skyboxes are built we will continue to generate revenue even faster. Honestly I've always wondered about the skyboxes. How many do they accomodate? Who's up there? What are they like? How much do they cost? Are they counted towards attendance? Anyway, I don't know if there is a phototour somewhere on the net but I'd kind of like to see the since my wife and I are only pulling in 5 figure incomes and we won't be shelling out anytime soon. Wait, by "club suites" they do mean something along the lines of "skyboxes" right? We're not planning on cutting into existing seating are we?

Should KU receiver Kerry Meier be the backup quarterback this season?

We need Pick back there getting some reps. Get him plenty 'o snaps in the non-con games if we're up big, and I'll be willing to bet if he plays respectably that he'll be penciled in as the solid #2 QB for the remainder of the season. It's important that he gets some snaps in now because come next fall he'll be our #1 guy (unless Webb gives him a run for his money - which could be a real possibility given his performance in the spring game).

Back on track?

"It remains to be seen if KU advances to a BCS bowl again his senior season."
That's a profound and insightful statement.

11 pass break-ups and 63 tackles is hardly anything to turn your nose up at. Will he be "back on track"? What a load of hooey. I fully expect great thing from Thornton this year, but if he ONLY turns in 63 tackles and 11 passes broken up you won't see me crying.

Dugan Arnett’s KU football notebook

I fully expect Biere to catch quite a few passes when he's playing from the line.

Filling linebacker void could be key

Well sorry to have trashed on Dougie, kind of, he is afterall a Mizzery grad. Glad I could help spread accurate (relatively) info. I predict that our LBs will progress much like our offensive line did last year - a liability at the start of the season and an asset by the end.
