Yankee Bowl likely to have Big 12 ties

I don't have an issue so much with NYC or cold weather...but really, call it anything other than the Yankee Bowl.

Fifteen more years for Self? 'That's still a long time'

I think Self and Scott Drew at Baylor came into the conference in the same season, but Drew didn't come on board until August, so Self would have him by a couple of months (and a lot better circumstances).

World Company book recounts dream season

Newspapers are businesses, and businesses sell things. No sales? No paychecks, no newspapers. Newspapers will fade over time, and these kinds of books are generally printed on a higher quality paper more likely to stand the test of time. Did you expect a season recap to be produced with all new content? Basically; it's a yearbook. I want one, and I'll get one.

World Company book recounts dream season

P Rattler-It has to do with when the award was presented, and by whom. Odds are the 2008 award is for 2007 work(s).Not that you couldn't figure it out.And nobody made you read the "advertisment." Last I checked, the site belongs to the J-W, and they can do, within reason, what they want.

Mixed reviews

It wasn't just the one catch by Purify; I think he had three TD's on the day, all against Talib, and all in the Red Zone.

I thought Talib had plenty of question marks coming out, even with the performance in Miami. And every healthy, first-team QB in the NFL can make the perfect pass (some more consistently than others, but they wouldn't start if they couldn't do it) and it's easy to see Talib getting a similar moniker as Elvis Patterson. Of course, "Toast' played in the league 10 years.

In his element

I agree that Coach Brown ought not be in college again, as it's hard enough to change coaches and there's never a good time to do it at the college level.

If the Xs and Os are what Brown misses, an assistant's job might well be in order. I'd doubt the finances are a real consideration, and frankly, we haven't had many big men that have been great (a few were good, but none great) between times Manning was on campus.

And yeah, college basketball, and football for that matter, need their own governing bodies, but that's fodder for another post.

KU-MU figures still not known

It may have been the first KU-Misery tilt in KC, but it certainly wasn't the Chiefs first go-round with parking. Since they kept the parking and concessions, shouldn't they be the ones held responsible for lack of traffic flow?
