Mayer: Arthur's KU days history
I seen more than one mock draft that had Seattle taking Beasley. Can you imagine what Beasely and Durant would be to a team after a few years in the league? Scary.
As for Mario and Russell in the league, I think they will defintely have good careers. Vaughn isn't even 6'1" and he's been a valuable-minutes bench guy on a championship team for awhile now. Hinrich, on the other hand is actually 6'3", so it's not as good of a comparison.
Still, we've seen plenty of times that height is only one factor as a guard in the NBA. The list of 6' guards that have played well over the years is as long as my arm.

Keegan: OSU not right fit for Self
That's a good observation L4Life, but I think Danny needs to spend a few more years as an assistant working with an excellent recruiter before he's ready to take the reigns... eventually, I think Danny as KU's coach could be considered a lock.

Keegan: OSU not right fit for Self
Heck, with the recruiting class he has coming in, plus the 2 or 3 guys that might return... it's not beyond the realm of possibility that this team could be in the hunt next year. CNN/SI has a pre-preview of next season with KU at 5 assuming that Chalmers returns for his senior season. I think this excellent recruiting class that Self has coming in certainly must play into his decision making process.

Commentary: Memphis had it, but Kansas took it
Yeah, I agree fansincewilt... I'll also say that the other teams you mention all had some achilles heel. '97 ran into a quick team in Arizona and couldn't adjust their style. The 2003 team couldn't match up well with the long armed zone that Syracuse presented them. This years team, I think, could have played both of those games much better. One other point... having all 5 players on the floor (starters or reserves) presents a real problem to the defense. It makes it impossible for an opponent to focus on shutting down one or two guys. I'll remember this team fondly for a very long time and I miss them already.

Mario and the miracle!
I remember being 11 years old and not quite grasping how cool it was that a team from 20 minutes away (I lived in Lansing) was winning the national title. I solidified my love for KU when we moved away from KS to Germany for my Dad's military reassignment. Having that as a part of my identity to talk about with other kids from all over the country was a ton of fun. Those kids always respected KU, and Ol' Roy. Twenty years later, and it's the first time that a team I love has won the pinnacle of it's sport. Rock Chalk. Sorry to get all sentimental, but this is pretty meaningful to me. BTW, everyone should go to CBS and get an account so that they can add KU and bring up the fan numbers... KU currently ranks 5th with 3 and 4 being Wisconsin and Ohio State! Not acceptable is it?

Self on OSU: 'I'm not a candidate'
Way off topic here, but did any of you catch the opening of PTI on ESPN? It had me going for a second.

Next up: UNC - KU downs Davidson, returns to Final Four a 59-57 winner
kickazzkurtz - same thing here in Atlanta... as usual, I was very disappointed by the CBS 'coverage', both post-game and during.
As for UT and Memphis; Memphis looked good, but UT failed to play to their strengths, and really played right into Memphis' hands. Still, if any one had doubts, they ought to know that Memphis is for real. UCLA, is definitely the weakest of the four, but any combination of the teams in the final would be compelling. I almost don't care what happens if KU beats Roy and UNC.

KU back on Final Four's doorstep, knocks off 'Nova 72-57
Huh. Kind of shocked to read so much negativity on the board this evening. The game was never in question after that early run. I thought KU played a methodical and complete game tonight. Nova wasn't going to go down with out a fight... yet we never let them get a real run going. I like our chances against Davidson, but it won't be a cakewalk by any means. Go Hawks.
