I certainly hope that Self does stay around, but on the other hand Kansas has a deep bench and will be okay if he does leave.

If Self does leave for his alma mater, you have a great person who can step in who has Kansas as his alma mater. Who is already familiar with current KU operations. Who has NBA experience. Who won an NCAA championship himself. Who was an assistant coach when a team won an NCAA championship. If Self leaves, Kansas would likely have Danny Manning as a coach.

I'm certainly not advocating Self leaving and hope that he doesn't, but Kansas will still be in a pretty good position if he does.
