My apologies KittyHawk. I cannot wait to see your finished artwork. Hope you have as much fun with yours as does Kat.

KittyHawk, with all due respect, you have a lot of nice artwork, but not to the point of KU Basketball like Kat's. As this is a forum for KU stuff, and her's is relevant to Late Night and everything Phog, let's agree that you have a nice tat but Kat is the skin art queen of KU tats. Lots of current and former players ask her to pose with them. She literally chose to wear her crimson and blue heart on her skin.

It's one thing to be a fan but come on. Get a life!
Only kidding Kat, you set the bar for the Jayhawk faithful.

Jayhawks slow to start
Unfortunately, the teams we have played to date don't allow us to begin to understand where this team is on either side of the ball. This isn't the fault of the schedulers. We are improving the teams being scheduled compared to the last few years. I still say the trip to El Paso was something many BCS-league teams wouldn't attempt.
This Saturday should provide a real look at our progress. Southern Mississippi looks like a legit opponent. 4-0 will look a lot sweeter than 3-0 due to the level of competition. This is turning out to be a nice "ramping up" of our competition.

Kansas guard relishes ’Frisco
Hey, if you are going to talk about guys who played tough last year, don't forget Cole. While he might not be large in bulk (as opposed to being tall), he plays a very physical game. You don't score, rebound, and block shots as he does without a lot of banging inside. And other teams tried to push him around with very little success. Cole is a tough, tough player.

KU men's basketball has Big 12 schedule released
I remember Coach Williams used to take advantage of our ESPN Big Monday broadcasts by recruiting the West Coast. He stated that those broadcasts hit high schoolers just as they were getting home from practice and it led a lot of them to find KU attractive. I haven't heard the same from Coach Self. Wonder if it is still true, or if it is insignificant since Self seems to see the whole country as one big recruiting base, whereas Williams tended to look more west of the Mississippi?

KU’s 10 biggest stars
kerbyd stole my comment, so I will just agree with kerbyd. Al Oerter certainly deserves to be listed in Tom's opening line. While Track & Field no longer has the following in the U.S. that it once did, Al was a very popular figure. And this extended to the world as there is a lot of interest in Track & Field in many countries. Then to do it on the biggest stage of the Olympics four times, well it just means that Mr Oerter will always be on any list of KU's greatest.

Appleton transferring to Southwest Baptist

I appreciate the spirit of your list, but I feel it is a mistake to put Kenny Gregory and Eric Chenowith in such company. Both of those guys started and played significant roles for several seasons. I have never understood the animosity demonstrated (not necessarily from you wayward) from the posters towards Eric. Seems to me he came to KU, gave his best, and never did anything to dishonor our program. Just look at the postings above. Tyrone hardly had an impact and so many are saying "Once a Jayhawk always a Jayhawk". Doesn't Eric deserve the same respect?
As for Gregory, he has nothing to be ashamed of. I am proud of his legacy in our program. I agree about Jelani, Luke, and Lester. They truly didn't work out. I remember Milt Newton, one of my all-time favorites, as a frosh. He was terrible! I have never been so worried watching a pass go to a player as I was with Milt. There was no way I would have ever believed he would become the talent he was. Goes to show, there is no formula or sure thing for our coaches.

KU signee dazzles at Derby Classic
I suggest that everyone bring an extra Jayhawk shirt to Late Night. Then, when Elijah is introduced, we all hold up the shirts and wave them. Can you think of a better way to show this young Jayhawk how proud we are of his dedication to our program? If you like the idea, please help to promote it and remind folks come Late Night.
