Texas Tech's Leach calls Mangino investigation 'witch hunt'

Of course Leach is defending Mangino, it's a W everytime he sees us on the schedule. If these guys are so supportive of MM why have they waited until they were asked by the media before they voiced their support. Where are all the former or current assts. coming forward to defend him or say these negative reports are embelished or didn't occur?

I have heard nothing but negatives about MM and the type of person he is and how he treats people forever. I have heard worse rumors about his temper and abusive nature that have not been reported and may not be true, but if he walks like a duck, smells like a duck, quacks like a duck... He's a frickin' duck!

Regardless of how this has been handled, or what Leach or kusports posters think, the damage has been done. MM has to go and we can do better. Will we get OB 12-1 lucky again? Probably not, but we can be better in conf. and against legitamate opponents.

Mangino's communication with Perkins has been 'practically none'

It's a no win for Lew. If he handled this when we were winning, it's bad timing. When he handles it when we are losing, why didn't he handle it before. If he handles it during the season, why didn't he wait till after. If he handles it after the season, why didn't he handle it immediately.

Lew has been mum on this situation, he is not talking which he shouldn't be. Lew was forced into this situation and now he is dealing with it in the appropriate manner. It's not Lew that has touched or verbally abused players, it's not Lew that is writing stories and printing former players comments. Bottom line is Lew is trying to clean up a mess that Mangino has made, MM doesn't have the players respect, they wouldn't speakout against him if they respected him. It's Mangino that got the parking tickets and yelled at the parking patrol. It's MM that has the reputation of treating people poorly. It's Mangino that is head coach of a last place team on a 6 game losing streak. Blaming Lew is pretty ridiculous, this is a business and Lew is taking care of business.

The simple equation is losing + being an abusive d!ck = fired.

MEANgino hasn't shown the self discipline to lose any weight how is he going to have the self discipline to control his anger. I have no issues with his weight at all, but he must show discipline to demand it.

Would he allow one of his players to: be overweight and out of shape, get 23 parking tickets, poke a coach in the chest, cuss out campus parking officials, disrespect a coach/opponent/ref..... Heck no he would not put up with any of that crap for a second. Mangino is simply a disciplinarian with no discipline himself.

Just because we had one extreme in Allen doesn't mean we need the other extreme in MADgino. Everyone who is saying this is football and the players need to suck it up, are absolutely right. This is football and the Head coach needs to suck it up, you don't produce W's you get canned! He's getting 3 gimees a year... Northern Co's, Intrn'l Fla's, central this, western that, eastern who. We can and should do better than Mangino.

Investigation under way

This all sucks, we should be talking about winning the North, the Big 12 championship game and Bowl speculations.

Bottom line is if your an A hole it catches up to you. I don't see a very long line of people stepping up to support MM, and all these negative stories start appearing. Even when he was winning you'd always hear about his negative demeanor. There's a big difference between a coach thats a hard a$$ but and on that's an a$$ hole.

I don't think he'll be fired two days before the TU game, but he won't be on the sidelines for MU, and we will win one of those games. (MU)

Mangino wins games, not friends

It's crap to think we can't do better than Mangino, can't do better than an overall losing record in the Big 12. Orange Bowl and consecutive bowl trips have been great. I enjoy going somewhere warm the past couple winters to watch this team. But honestly we CAN and should do better.

This would not be acceptable for KU hoops because we have tradition. But we should accept it for football because we don't have a winning history?? That's foolish thinking.
Top 20 pay, grade A facilities... we deserve better and can do better!

Thanks MM for what he's done, but now let's move onward and upward. Seriously how can this unraveling, investigations, terrible pr for ku, last place in weak north conf...be tolerated. It can't. Anyone who is the top paid man would be replaced for any of these issues alone. This is a business like any other, poor performance, poor pr and poor behavior gets you a pink slip.

Investigation of Mangino launched after player complains coach poked him

Iowa State fired Mac then lost Chiz. They are going to a bowl this year. I believe what we can pay, the facilities we have, we will be alright. We certainly can't be any worse than this year, we won't be close to 07 either though.

Anytime you have a coach that never played the level they are coaching (Mangino, Haley) it's harder to get the players respect, and if your an a$$ and constantly demeaning your player, it's impossible to have their respect.

Investigation of Mangino launched after player complains coach poked him

Grunhard twittered he heard from a source close to the program, Mangino will be gone by Thursday. Source also said he was nervous at every prac. for 5 yrs. Not sure if Grunhard believed it but he reported it.
