KU licks Volunteers

That was a game--you knew that Tenn would make a run but our Hawks held up under pressure this time.Speaking of pressure, I loved it when the ESPN announcers were highlighting Brady's use of the gap in the table to get more room to inbounds. They were tough on him and he was able to outsmart them! That's how you win games.

What possesses a person to make a comment like that? One of the great players of the Williams era (and there were many) gets hurt and is blogged as a disappointment and a money-grubber.

Jayhawks hit the road to Omaha

Another coincidence: 20 years ago, KSU ended a 52-game AFH winning streak for us. This year, they ended a quarter-century drought in Bramlege against us. Streak ends, championship quest begins?

Those going, you'll love Omaha. It and the Qwest are fabulous.

Come on folks, calm down. No, this should not have happened. Yes, we looked really bad with the ball. I remember a really good 1986 team choking at Iowa State. We lost. Maybe it will happen again. Maybe we will learn. Quit trying to sell Bill Self to Pickens. Enough already.

It's just another road trip for Self

If Bill Self retires from KU, am not sure you would see Manning as a replacement unless it is a Guthridge-style move. Self is only three years older than Manning. Of course, if Self stays until retirement, that would be long enough to justify a short-term replacement just to smooth the transition.

As much fun as we make of it, I find myself wondering why more basketball players don't "granny" shoot it from the line. If the underhand shot works, maybe we won't make quite as much fun of it. Then, again....

Man, this one is tough but toughness leads to greatness.

I remember the end of another streak when KSU beat us to end a 52-game home winning streak in 1988. I think we know how that season ended....

This may be one of the all-time KU teams. It's also one of the best KSU teams. Rivalries are made out of moments like this! Ultimately, life will be great for basketball in the state by both teams being on "equal" ground.
