Forget the Allegations - Get Ready for Kentucky...
CJ Henry picking Calipari over Self (after he committed to Self in '05) is quite possibly the DUMBEST argument I have ever heard as to why Self isn't a better coach then Calipari. If you follow that stupid logic than you could argue that CJ picked Self again in '09 when he had the chance to follow Calipari to Kentucky. Also, that faulty logic could carry you into the argument that CJ sat under Calipari's coaching for a full year at Memphis and still chose Self instead of following Calipari to Kentucky. So, who is the better coach then if you go off of your lame argument? Based off your logic, Self would be the better coach because CJ picked Self a second time AFTER being with Calipari for an entire season. Pushing all that to the side, I still say Bill Self if the better coach. Time will only continue to prove this.

Who drafted the best basketball team in the latest Spodcasters?
I am assuming that the order for each team is the placement they were drafted...how did Reed go before CJ Henry? CJ is going to surprise a lot of people I think. I really see him taking a lot of minutes from people off last year's team.

Obama's bracket has KU losing in Sweet 16
Actually, I hear Obama wants to re-distribute the points from the higher scoring teams to the lower scoring teams...so everyone wins! hahaha.... =)

No. 14 Mizzou beats Baylor for first Big 12 title
Can't say I was happy to see Mizzou when the conference championship, but I was happy for Mike Anderson considering all he's been through there. I really do think he is a good coach.

One and done
It is Cole ALDRICH!! Not Aldridge!! How can you follow KU basketball and not know this!? Sorry...just a pet peeve.
I think this loss could turn out to be a blessing. I was worried we may win the Big 12 tourney and then get bounced in the opening round of the NCAA tourney, but now I don't think we will get bounced quite that early.

Collins, Aldrich named to All-District team
Okay, let's not kid ourselves. Yes, I love Kansas basketball and can't imagine wanting to play anywhere else except Allen Fieldhouse but that's because I grew up cheering for and loving KU. The truth is, Memphis DOES have something to offer these kids. Why would they NOT want to go play at the FedEx Forum (which is an NBA facility)? Bill Self knows how to develop players, however, Kansas is not known for their one and dones therefore the attraction level isn't as great as Memphis is. These guys want to play for the place that is going to help them reach their ultimate destination (the NBA) the quickest. That place is Memphis (as much as I hate to admit it). KU develops talent, but at Memphis they are free to do whatever in that dribble drive offense and display natural abilities which pushes them closer to the NBA. Don't get me wrong, it frustrates me to no end that ANY player would pick another school over my beloved Jayhawks, however let's be honest about the situation. Let's not assume that other schools don't have anything on us to offer these guys.
One more thing, I think Collins and Aldrich will both leave. Stephenson's surprise is anybody's guess...I just hope it is KU.

KU moves to 9th in latest rankings
Was that ESPN article about Kansas written by that Jamele Hill chick? I remember a few years ago after the "killer B's" incidents that she wrote an article how she would never pick the Jayhawks again because they get you excited and then just disappoint in the tournament. The next year we went to the Elite Eight and then won the National Championship after that. How's that for disappointment? After reading that article, I couldn't stand her.
In other news, I live in Memphis and believe me they are better than what most people give them credit for. I still say we could beat them but they are pretty good. They are a strong defensive team but have a hard time scoring. Sure they haven't lost since moving Evans to the point, but really who have they played since then? An overrated Gonzaga team. Don't get me wrong...I think really do believe Calapari has done a good job with them this year (even though I can't stand the guy) but they'll probably flame out either in the 2nd round or in the Sweet Sixteen.

Gary Bedore's KU basketball notebook
Sherron isn't a team player? Are you kidding me? Instigator of alley-oops? Yes, I have seen him throwing plenty of alley-oops. Is your memory so short that you don't remember last season? Sherron Collins IS a team player and to say he isn't just because he has had to shoulder a lot more of the load this season is ridiculous.
