Mangino wins games, not friends
Look Mangino has done a good job at getting KU to be respectable. Perkins has done a better job of paying a coach first class and giving him first class facilities. Mangino is the 17th highest paid coach in the country. Do you think we've gotten that? Yes, he has a winning record overall because we've feasted on the Northern Colorado's of the world. Mangino is 23-39 in the Big XII. If you want to throw out his worst and best years in the league, he's 16-30. Look folks, that's terrible. The North is a joke and we're looking at the cellar of the ENTIRE Big XII. Mangino is the one that didn't want to do the PR stuff and be judged by his Ws & Ls. Well, it certainly doesn't look good. That's why you do the PR stuff because when you hit a rough patch, you get the benefit of the doubt.
We had a good recruiting class last year and a good one thus far this year. You hire the right coach and with our schedule next year, there's a real opportunity to hit the ground running. No way you can retain Mangino at this point. It's time to move on and find a new coach.

Limited production
Sharp's running like 3/4 speed and KU insists on trying to run him between the tackles wasting play after play after play. When's the last time that worked for more than a couple yards? If you're going to run the ball between the tackles, run Opurum. The running game has been a disaster and what's been worse has been the coaching and play calling for the running game.

Wild about the Wildcat: Southern Miss. successful with odd offense
Dugan,
The Wildcat formation is a derivative of the single wing; not the wing T. The wing T is a conventional formation with a QB under center. The single wing is the shotgun formation.
Here's straight off of wikipedia using google:
On September 21, 2008, the Miami Dolphins used a version of the single-wing offense (specifically the Wildcat offense) against the New England Patriots on six plays, which produced five touchdowns (four rushing and one passing) in a 38-13 upset victory, [25] after its successful adoption on the college and high school level by several teams.

Eagles see KU as signature opponent
Interestingly enough, a bunch of the national pundits are picking Southern Miss.

Ticket ‘stimulus’ program kicks off
KU's tickets are relatively inexpensive. The only school with cheaper football tickets than us is K-State.

Regents approve expansion of Memorial Stadium
PhogginLoud, you really ought to do the math because you're way off. The courtside seats are only generating $600,000/year. The new football club level is worth about $315 million up front, or if you annualize it ought choosing the least expensive average annual cost, it would generate $10.5 million/year, which is nearly 20 times what the new courtside seats are generating. Football can generate way more money than hoops and KU has one of the elite basketball programs. The nice thing about this project is KU is getting all the money up front and funding major capital projects all across KU Athletics and then kicking another $40 million over to the academic side. This is an incredible opportunity for KU and frankly, we're fortunate that we've been mediocre historically that we have the opportunity to do this now and rake in all this cash.

Game balls and Gassers
As much as it infuriates us when Patterson lets punts hit the ground, it's really got to infuriate Mangino. It really costs us a lot of field position. I'm surprised when don't put another returner up short to just fair catch short punts.

Being Reesing: The curious, glamorous, wacky and utterly unbelievable world of one of Lawrence’s most famed residents
Great article. I think that's the best article I've ever read on here. I'd love to figure out which Lil Wayne song that's in if it's true.

Rookie looking sharp
The difference between a football and basketball game is you only have 2000 students at most basketball games versus a football game like Saturday, there's around 10,000 students there. I sit on the east side so I couldn't see, but I'm guessing there's probably still close to a couple thousand left late in the game, but maybe not.
I think everything will pick up for the bigger games on the schedule. To me, it did seem like there was definitely more tailgating and it started earlier. Hopefully it'll keep up when the weather turns colder and the games start earlier.

KUsports.com gets ready to launch KU fan travel community
Cool idea. I hope to see a lot more KU fans at road games this year. K-State is an easy drive. Texas is just a fun, fun place and every KU fan should go see a game where the fans are just fanatical about football. It's certainly something to watch a game in an 100,000 seat stadium. Boulder is a good trip to. I think once more of our fans experience a road trip, they'll be hooked!
