Probe timing curious

The only thing worse than whining players are whining parents. If the player was not cleared to play by the medical staff he would not be playing. They have taken the decision away from the coach for just this reason. Whether the AD had to investigate at the time the complaint was made is possible. He did not however have to make it public knowledge either by his actions or his words. I hope the cry baby parents are happy about throwing the entire program under the bus for their little boy.

KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins

d-prowess- I can't speak for the any of the specific programs apparently like you can but it's obvious that the womens basketball team only got what they got because of the improvements to the mens program. The soccer team got a new locker room a couple of years ago only because some of the parents on the team stepped up and paid for it. As far as that "small little olymic sports compound" you mention, that has been promised to athletes and recruits for the last 5 years. The only thing they have gotten is a real pretty color picture of what it might be someday after they are long gone. Finally, are you kidding me? You really think the TCU coach would want this job? You need a reality check.

KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins

mutt- other than a first class basketball program, which was already well in place before his arrival, what in the world has Perkins done other than alienate fans, raise money, and build monuments to himself like his 6 million dollar barn for the rowing team to store their boats in. There has been little if no improvement in the non-revenue/olympic sports teams performances. He has made promises to the womens soccer team, the softball team, and the track and field teams since he has been here about all the improvements that are going to be made. So far nothing has been done. Perkins may be the greatest "sport executive" in the world, but he is only an average athletics director. A national power in basketball and a mediocre football program does not a "program of excellence" make. I would love to see KU be a "program of excellence", but it will not happen under Perkins.

Perkins should be investigated as well. This stuff with Mangino has been going on for 5 or 6 years supposedly and now is when Perkins decides to investigate it. The head coaches are his responsibility just like any CEO is responsible for his people. It's rediculous that he throws Mangino and the entire football program under the bus at this point in time. He obviously has his own agenda and puts that ahead of the University and the football program. Unfotunately Perkins has again shown that his real interest is not in wins and losses, or graduation rates, it's in dollars. He must feel that Mangino can't help him take it to the "next level" in fund raising. If he thinks this is going to help him sell seats in the Gridiron Club he is sadly mistaken.

Provost at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill named KU chancellor

The other candidates should not feel bad about not getting the job. Once it was known that one of the choices was from UNC, then it was a done deal. I do not understand KU's fascination, and at times inferiority complex with UNC. It could have been a monkey from UNC and that's who would have gotten the job. KU, grow up and start being The University of Kansas, not UNC- Lawrence.

Self is in Route to NYC!

We are not going to win any national titles with Brady starting. If he beats out Tyshawn then it only means Ty has not become the player everyone thought he could be. Brady is a good support/role player and that is all. Unless we can come up with a Danny Manning for next year, we don't have enough talent to make up for Brady's lack there of.

National chomps

Just a few thoughts on last night.1) Has any coach in the history of football choked as much as Bob Stoops? It was the same old OU in a BCS game. They played tentatively, and with very little emotion. Stoops makes some rediculous decions and puts his team in a hole they can't crawl out of. I don't know what the guy does in preparation for the bowl games but he needs to change it. 2) An ACC crew to afficiate the National Championship game? What, were the boys from the CFL not available?. This game deserves a good crew from a real football conference, ie., Big 10 or Pac 10 since the SEC and Big 12 were participants.3) Did anyone know that Florida has blocked 8 punts this year? If the announcers mentioned that one more time I was going to shoot my TV.4) Please NCAA, don't let FOX broadcast the big bowls again. Who were those guys last night? They couldn't even keep the downs straight let alone wouldn't shut up about Florida and Tebow.5) Big 12 bowl record: North 3-0, South 1-3. Thank god for the north.

Jury finds for KU in Joe-College lawsuit

KUMath- "If KU says you can't do it, you simply can't" I'm sorry I didn't know I had to ask KU permission to pee.Hey Mrs. Perkins, tell Lew great job. He's just given more people a reason to hate the athletic dept. Lew and his "comrades" should be very happy.

Kaun signs with team in Russia

Eurekahwk, maybe you should jump on the freedom plane and move to Russia with Sasha.Sasha's numerous weakness will be exposed in the Olympics. He wouldn't even get a sniff of interest from our Olympic team and yet Russia thinks he will be a starter for theirs. Looking forward to that game. I think it's great that he got a seven figure contract ( is that in rubles or marbles). His 15 minutes of fame are over in the US. I hope he enjoyed his stay because he will not be back to play in the NBA.
