Mangino's communication with Perkins has been 'practically none'
KU1992,
Lew Perkins did not hire Bill Self, nor did he hire Mark Mangino. All of the Alum $ contribution is due to the success of our football and basketball recently.
Lew Perkin's job is not that secure. One is only worth as much as what is done for the University lately. A prime example is that the National Coach of the Year two years ago, who also lead KU football to three consecutive bowl victories is in danger of losing his job.
I don't like the way Lew Perkins puts Mangino on trial publicly before without all facts. Coach Mangino deserves better.

Probe timing curious
Salthawk54,
Right on!
Mangino was the national coach of the year and has brought a level of enthusiasm to KU football not seen in the past 20, 30 or 40 years. He deserves better than the treatment Lew Perkins and many fans are giving him.

UNLV announces Thomas transfer
Don't know which of the following irratates me more: people who post mean spirited garbage or that I kept on reading their posts. People who have a gift of gab should really use it more constructively. Please.

Self comments on Henry situation
If you have an investment that has a potential of worth multi-million dollars, and you have worked hard for 20 years cultivating that investment; you would want to be absolutely sure you give it the best chance possible to realize that potential at the last minute. No one but the Henry's has the Henry's best interests in heart. Most of the self-righteous fans just want to win another Natinal Championship. They don't care about the Henrys. Also, please don't get on the moral high horse claiming that KU only wants the loyal team player type. We have also recruited the likes of John Wall, and now are bashing them after they turned us down. Don't forget we also welcomed Darrel Aurther who changed school overnight because of a dream....
Relax.

Jayhawk Flashback: Roy Williams introductory press conference, July 8, 1988
Thank you for this video. It brought back a lot of memories. I also remember that the University Daily Kansan's headline of "Roy Who?" when he was first hired. The hiring of Roy has to be the all time best hiring decision.

Which KU men's basketball team is more talented?
It's an opionin poll, and it can serve as an conversational/discussion topic for KU basketball fans. It's not meant to be a predictor of things to come. Recently, 60% of the people voted that the Hernys won't come to KU. These polls are just conversational starters. No need to get all hyped up over the small stuff.

Drgslayer,
After reading your post, I am warming up to the idea of having Lance instead of X.
