KU in contact with BCS bowls
I think they're "hyping" the Fiesta because they have the third pick of the bowls, and KU is the third most appealing at-large team (after Georgia and Illinois/Mizzou). If KU goes to a BCS game, it will almost certainly be the Fiesta.
If Mizzou wins, we're in as the B12's representative. If they lose, we have a chance at the Fiesta Bowl, depending on whether the Rose takes Illinois. If they do, then Orange will take Georgia, and we'll play OU in the Fiesta. If the Rose takes Georgia, the Orange could take KU, but they would probably take Mizzou, and the Fiesta would be forced to take ASU or Illinois.
Since Mizzou has about a 50/50 shot a beating OU this weekend, and KU will definitely go if they win and possibly go if they lose, I'll put KU's chances at the Fiesta at 75% as of right now.

Analyst: Jayhawks BCS-bound
The determining factor in this scenario is whether the Rose Bowl would care enough to replace OSU with another B10 school. They would, after all, get the first pick to replace Ohio State, and I don't see how you pick Illinois (who would have barely squeaked into eligibility, at #14 or so in the BCS) ahead of Georgia, or even Mizzou and Kansas, to play USC.
So assuming the Rose takes Georgia, the Orange would next pick an opponent to play VT. Would they take a 1 loss KU team over a 2 loss Mizzou team that recently beat KU? I do not think that they would.
That eliminates KU due to the two-teams-from-one-conference BCS rule, so ASU would be the next best choice and they'd play OU in the Fiesta.
The Sugar gets the last pick and they'll be forced to take Hawaii due to their winning the WAC and being in the top 12 of the BCS.
Basically: go Mizzou, and then go Mountaineers!

T'wolves trade for Simien
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (20:10)

Hoops hopefuls feel heat at tryout
Morgan is a 270 pound center, and we already have one of those in Aldrich.
I'm not saying I don't want him, but if you were in his shoes, would you want to come into a program where you could theoretically be playing behind/splitting time with someone for 3 of your 4 years?
We really need the twins badly, and then either Q Thomas or a Juco PF or C that emerges over the course of the year.

Joe-College, KU battle moving to court
Does he use the Trajan Font (tm) on his shirts? If so, not only should he lose his business, he should be tarred and feathered and forced to march down Mass St. while being stoned by onlookers.

Hoops schedule grades out well
Willie Warren and J'Mison Morgan could both be Jayhawks by November.
Add Travis Releford, and maybe Terrance Henry and the Morris twins to that, and Bill Self will have done it again.

Texan set to visit
Willie's not a bad kid, he's just cocky. I don't think he has any character problems per say, but I also don't think he is a total class act like Monroe. If I had to chose one or the other, I'd take Monroe, but I certainly wouldn't turn Warren away.
Since our biggest needs will be SF (replacing Rush) and PF (replacing Arthur), I would be ecstatic if Bill could somehow pull off the miracle and get both. He almost certainly won't, however, so I'll hold out hope that we get one of them and then sign a Juco (Little at SF, or Keller at PF) for the other spot. The Morris twins could then be signed to back up the forward positions (Marcus at SF, Markeiff at PF), and Morgan could back up Aldrich. The seventh and final schollie could go to Henry if we want another forward or Taylor if we want another guard.

Texan set to visit
I'm pretty sure McDonald only had a conditional offer from KU; basically, if nobody else at your position signs with us (Little, Warren, Mookie Jones, Tyshawn Taylor), then we'd love to have you.
I'm glad he picked UNM because now Self doesn't have to pay attention to him and can focus on getting two of those previously mentioned four.

Rush's rehab picks up
He was just a freshman last year. I know 10 and 6 for a juco freshman doesn't seem impressive, but he was sharing time with national juco player of the year Jamarcus Ellis (going to Indiana this year), and will now be expected to take over sole possession of that wing spot. His coach actually said he wouldn't be surprised if Little beats Ellis' average and puts up more than 17 a game.
Also, Chippola JC has a reputation for taking Chicago area ballers and coaching them up to be ready for D1. Along with Ellis, Indiana's DeAndre Thomas went there, as did Stefon Hannah, and he's about the only thing working out for Mizzou right now.
