Ex-Jayhawk Geubelle qualifies for Olympics in triple jump

My husband and I are in Eugene for the trials. We yelled "Rock Chalk" to Andrea when she ran her victory lap. It's the first time since 96 that all three American triple jumpers met the standard for the Olympics. We could tell Andrea was a little bit hobbled - she limped a bit after her fourth jump but stepped up on her fifth jump. Finley is competing with a "Kansas" shirt on, which is cool for Jayhawks track fans since he left the program before he graduated. His best throw was massive. Nobody even came close. Maybe some of the other favorites were holding back in qualifying. Rain is in the forecast again, maybe that's Finley's secret weapon.

Three mid-year football transfers make KU commitments official

What's the deal with the two guys from Snow CC? They committed this summer and we've already seen one Snow commit jump ship. Are they not eligible to sign this period?

Stop losses: KU football focuses on missed tackles

Dineen's one hit of the QB and several of Schuyler Mile's tackles were the only times I saw a KU LB make a solid hit. Arnick and Roberts seemed undersized and outmuscled, and that was against an FCS school.

Former KU track coach Bob Timmons dead at 91

We were blessed to have him coach at Baldwin High after his time at KU. He was a great motivator and he cared well for us as people, not just athletes.

Column: Three football red shirts stand out

Schyler Miles did not play this season. I know he was a Weis recruit so I wonder if he will be back next year. He has shown promise.

What caught my eye at Wednesday's KU football practice: Nov. 12

I saw Watson make a nice tackle in the ISU game. I was wondering the same about Miles though.
