Probe timing curious

People keep saying wait to hear the facts, but everyone needs to realize that the facts will never come out. There is no way that the results of a personnel matter will see the light of day, will they?

KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins

jhokfan, how is that the best case scenario? Best case is that he is out, we get the TCU Coach, recruits are excited to stay, current players are happy Mangino is gone, and we become a consistent force in the North.
But I do agree it will be hard for the team to stay focused for these last two games.

KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins

hawk4evr... I think women's soccer, women's basketball, and volleyball are pretty happy with the facilities upgrades that Perkins has overseen. Oh, and how about every sport other than basketball and football getting adidas apparel (remember nike only gave for mens basketball and football). Rowing got their boat house and there is a small little olympic sports compound planned to be built. So yeah, you are right... Perkins hasn't done anything to improve KU sports..

And Perkins was at the basketball game last night.

Bears bemoan lack of scoring

Love the "Some older gentlemen pay $10,000-$15,000 for a weekend to go to fantasy camp and play in something like this" comment! So true though...

What if KU stuns Texas?

People keep saying that KU must want a "soft" coach. No, they want a coach that will balance a firm hand, with respect for the players as people. They want someone that will scream in a guys face when he gets a celebration penalty, but will not bring up personal family issues that the kid had no control over. They want someone that will ride the player to be his best and thus the best for the team, not just to be give you what you want as a coach.
That I think is the difference between some of the other coaches people are throwing out there and Mark Mangino. He lacks the respect aspect of his interactions with players and that is why I want a new coach.

Not-so-gentle reign

After Mangino is fired (and like it or not, he will be), maybe there will be a reliving of the Al Bohl moment. Think about it, Mangino standing in his driveway and saying how he was like a dove that Lew decided to crush with his hand.
Ok, so maybe not, but was there a more surreal moment in KU athletics history than that press conference!?!

Julian Wright back in the dog house?

Julian is just being Julian... did anyone really ever think that he was going to be great in the NBA? Don't take that the wrong way, I think he will be in the league for a while, but I don't think I ever thought he would be a star.
He ended his two years at KU with a 10.4pts/gm and 6.3rb/pg, which is good, especially for a freshman and sophomore, but it still didn't jump off the page and indicate potential NBA star. I think Julian will probably bounce around the league for around 10 years, never be a consistent starter, and end up riding off into the sunset with a lot of money...

Releford, Little to sit out exhibition game

WaywardJay, don't forget that Tyshawn is a projected mid-first round NBA pick for next year. To early to say if he lives up to that projection, but that could take him off your next year depth chart.

The Sideline Report with Alonso Rojas

The ping pong celebration is awesome. Especially when right at the end the camera zooms in on the score to show that the kid was losing 10 to 1!

Back on track?

When Sharp got caught from behind during the OU game, I knew he wasn't 100%. If he is as fast as they say he is and healthy, he should have never been caught on that play.
