C.J. familiar with Tigers
Regardless of the traditional usage (though I agree with you) didn't C.J. attend a year of classes at Memphis. That would make him a sophomore both gradewise and in reference to his eligibility. We need to just look at his one year at Memphis as his "freshman" year, it'll be much easier that way.

Reed a leader for Kansas men
If you like Reed or not you've got to respect his attitude. He'll do anything for this team to win...even if it includes him not playing a single minute or playing 40 minutes balls to the wall. Every championship team needs a player like Tyrel. In 2008 it was Russel Robinson and I sure hope Tyrel can be the glue guy for a Kansas 2010 National Championship.

No. 1 recruit visiting Kansas
Yea RussRob was actually known as a high level scorer coming out of high school, but he saw that we needed a point guard and put his own interests aside to be whatever the team needed. That's one of the reasons he is one of my favorite jayhawks. Russ is the man...too bad no NBA team will see that in him.
On the subject of Brandon Knight: Couldn't want this kid more than I already do. He is a Kansas type player hands down. How could the top defensive player in the country not want to play basketball for not only one of the best Coaches in the country but also one who stresses defense over all else. When he described the type of school he wanted to go to it practically spelled out Kansas to me. Respectful to the players and treats them right. Check (Djax pretty much considers Self to be his surrogate father). Pushes players to be their best. Check (Jackson, Kaun, Rush, Cole, and even Mario and Arthur were pushed pretty hard while they were here and now 4 of the 6 are in the NBA the other is on his way and Kaun is making millions in Russia.)
P.S. Love that he realizes that there are two sides to recruiting and that stringing along schools he knows he won't be attending is doing nothing for him and hurting that school by keeping them from getting on with their recruiting.

Aldrich, Collins honored together
Do they always put 6 people on the Big-12 First Team?
Cole
Collins
Brackins
Warren
James
Anderson
I would swear that it has been 5 players every other year. Does this have something to do with a tie in the voting or something?

Kansas men's basketball team ranks high on 'bridesmaid' list
The 2002 team should have won it all too. That Maryland team was good but they played a weak Indiana team in the finals. Whoever won our semifinal was going to win the tourney so I wouldn't say that were a better team and we didn't blow it...just a good team that we lost too.

Gary Bedore's KU Basketball Notebook
I don't think Stephenson's decision has anything to do with Sherron leaving. Sherron wouldn't be holding any of Lance's minutes because he is a 6-6 wing. In fact him staying might make Stephenson want to come here even more (as he has stated he wants to win a National Championship.)
As for our scholarships I've heard Brady or Tyrel would pay there own way if need be. I doubt Appleton would transfer because he'll already be a senior and would have to sit out another year before playing. I think Thomas might just redshirt next year. Sad to say but Releford might be another candidate for a transfer though I think with a little bit more work under Self he could turn into a very good player, he's got great instincts but not the best decision making skills. Once he gets those down his length, athleticism, and ability to finish will get him on the court.
