A sour ending: KU collapses late in 87-85 overtime loss to Michigan

I would like to thank EJ for playing his guts out during the season and playoffs. It is not fair to blame him for the loss. Sure, it was not his best game, but if you DVR'd it, just go back and watch the game in regulation and start counting the number of missed layups, missed defensive assignments allowing uncontested layup for UM, free throws missed, etc, etc. This game should have NEVER gone in to Overtime. And the entire team is responsible for all of those mistakes during regulation...EJ was just the LAST guy you saw with a chance to win/tie, but by no means can you lay it all on him. Win as a team Lose as a team. Probably HCBS's best coaching job of his career taking the basically inexperienced team to the Sweet 16 when we were not even supposed to win the BIG 12. I am proud and I know they ALL gave 100% and didn't leave ANYTHING on the court. Good luck for a bright future, EJ!!!!! RCJH

Opinion: KU's stunning loss comes down to karma

All of you throwing the blame on EJ should watch the game again. We have always won as a team and we lose as a team. In REGULATION, start counting the number of free throws we missed, the number of defensive assigntments missed allowing snow birds for the Wolverine "simi bigs", how many open shots we missed..........there are a hundred different things that could have won the game in regulation. What you REMEMBER is EJ's drive and poor pass to Tharp but don't lay it all on him. They all left eveything they had on the court, but went that guy started hitting 3 pointers from Ft. Worth, I felt just maybe, it wasn't meant to be this year. So be proud of your Jayhawks and be happy to go back to the pre season where NO ONE even gave them a chance to win the Big 12!!! Probably HCBS's best coaching job of his career and you KNOW we will be back next year, same time, different place!!!! RCJH

I am one of those unfortunate souls that somehow ended up on Tobacco Road but my blood is crimson and blue. I am also one of the 50 people polled that feels that sometimes, a LOSS has a deep positive affect in our heads and tends to ground us and give us a shot of reality and experience what it feels like to LOSE (the MSU game was too early in the season to have that affect). Then, there are the other 50 that want to go undefeated. Historical numbers support my 'theory'. I hate that we are now ranked no. 1 in ANYONE"S poll cause, as you can see if you follow the weekly polls, there seems to be a new one each week. So, it does not matter to me where we are, as long as we get a NO. 1 seed in March. Not to overuse the cliche, but the only poll that matters occurs after the final game of he season and we win. What happens before then is meaningless unless it knocks us out of a NO. 1 seed and if that that should happen, then it is on US. November to early March means NOTHING if you are bouncing from 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 back to 3!!!! We want to be ranked number ONE in the only MEANINGFUL poll and that is the last one of they year. And, please pity me for being stuck here in ACC land and having to listen to what THEY THINK are real rivalries, but believe me, none are worse than the KU-MU hate! They just don't know!!...............!!!!! R C J H

What was the top KU basketball moment of 2012?

Since I have relocated to "Tobacco Road", nothing, not even wins over Mizzou or the Mildcats, hold a candle to beating Roy and his carolina blue one and doners. If you lived here, you would understand. I tell all of these TarHeel, Dookies, Deacons and Wolfpackers that Carolina will NEVER beat the Jayhawks as long as HCBS is still on the Hawk bench and ole Roy is still on the 'blue' bench. Roy had a spell cast upon him when he left. I was upset until they hired Self and in about 10 minutes after that, I could care less what Roy does or where he goes!! I followed Self all the way from Oral Roberts and it was, bar none, the best hire in the history of the program! IMO of coures! RCJH

ISU coach Hoiberg on McLemore's 3: 'I wish it would've swished'

I could be wrong, but did't a Cyclone also go to the "BANK" last night?? What, do they have the only key to the vault??!!

ISU coach Hoiberg on McLemore's 3: 'I wish it would've swished'

Wow, almost forgot about that one! Almost spooky that if you could just change the color of the unies from Orange to White, which Memphis wore and put the Blue unies on the Hawks and they are a clone of each other! If it worked the first time, why not try again just to give us another 5 minutes of pleasure by dominating the overtime periods

KCTV5 to re-air second half of KU-MU game tonight after sun spots cause fans to miss final minutes

Just to add to the "sunspot" conspiracy, I am a displaced Jayhawk stuck on tobacco road, major ACC territory and I too lost the CBS feed and it was replaced by Maryland v Virginia........two schools that would have a hard time winning the local high school tournament. At the time, I just thought one of the local (Charlotte) CBS affiliate directors of programing was a gradutate of one of those two. Too bad that I cannot watch the replay of the final 3:48 on MY biased CBS station, like you can out there, but despite that, the outcome is what I wanted. I am sure this 'cover-up', now that it is 'uncovered', won't happen again! Rock Chalk!! Here in NC, they don't take anyone but themselves seriously, especially the Big 12. I hope they will 'recognize' us in the end as we hopefully will have the opportunity to whip up on 'Roy's boys' and the Dookies somewhere in the big dance!! Oh, still trying to figure out how that spokesman assured us that these "sunspots" will NEVER happen again! How does he do that (lol). Total BS
