Getting his respect

8th all-time scorer.....two-time Big 8 Player of the Year (or was it three?)...31pts and 18 rebounds in the National Championship win...No. 1 draft pick. Even with all of that, it just doesn't do Danny justice. Those of us who were lucky enough to watch him play will remember the laser-beam passes, the 6-11 forward bringing the ball up the court on fast breaks as if he were a guard and, of course, that sweet, unstoppable jump hook - virtually a guaranteed baket every time he took the shot.

Danny is the greatest Jayhawk in KU basketball history. He is also one of the top 10 - not 25 - greatest college basketball players ever.

Seasons' changes dramatic

The record this season is one thing. What is more concerning is that we haven't even been close in several games. Sort of reminds me of past teams and past years. At this point in Mangino's tenure, we should not be having such huge meltdowns.

Keegan has hit it right on the head. You cannot consistently win in football without superior recruiting. The numbers are simply too big to ignore. And this is especially true when you play in the Big 12.

And please, do not schedule another legitimate football program (USF) in the early season for the next 8 years. We play 8 Big 12 games, and if we are good enough, 9. That's plenty of tough competition. If we win them all, then we'll go to a BCS game.

KU hoops target Snaer to decide Wednesday

You know. Podunkus wasn't a horrible player for the Violets. He averaged 1.1 pts and .7 rebounds for KSU over his career. Known for his hustle, his lunch bucket approach to the game and his flat top haircut, P. Dunk was a fan favorite in Manhattan.

Michael, Kansas is calling. Answer the call!

Keegan: Rookies struggle in debut

Fouling out in 7 minutes? That has to be some sort of a friggin' record! I wish I had seen it!

This teams a mess, but the earlier post is right on...some' players and some people have to learn things the hard way.

Self will make them strong. Some guys will get it, some won't and then the next recruiting class comes in.

No surprise that the lower-ranked newcomers played the best. They have something to prove and they are focused.

K-State's Prince fired

Josh Freeman is gone....he'll declare for the draft.

K-State is in trouble. The best coaches will go to Tenn and then to Washington. Then there will be openings at those schools, and the next best coaches will go there. Right after Toledo makes their hire, expect an announcement from K-State that they have hired a young, offensive minded coach with some success at the D-1 level. His name....Ron Prince.

Woodling: Talib among KU elite

Blogthis: please join your brothers in anger on another site. You should be a KSU fan with that attitude.

Hoops recruit 'loved' KU visit

Okay, I admit it, the excitement just doesn't seem to be there for a guy who averages 10-5 in high school? Tell me I'm missing something. How does a guy like this get ranked in the top-100?

Keegan: Another moment for Hadl

Hadl is one of the all-time KU greats. Supremely talented in a Jim Thorpe kind of a way. It would be nice if we could get a KU movement going to get him into the Hall of Fame - where he belongs.

There really is no one who has done more for KU athletics than Hadl (other than Phog Allen). Congratulations John on holing your first one at 68. Somehow, I'm not surprised.

K-State president sends congratulations to KU

First Big 12 National championship ever. Yes.....it's very good for the league. Congrats to the KSU president for his show of class.

Really, though, other that Dick Vitale who in America doesn't really appreciate what a great win that was?

Never say die. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Self, Perkins hold preliminary talk

Fans, let's flip this issue and pretend that Self is already on a plane to Stagnantwater, OK.

What would Lew's next move be? A big search, possible rejections from coaches who will want the same thing that Self wants.

I'm generally a positive person, but Lew needs to remind himself of the alternative if we lose Self. It ain't pretty and it won't be cheap. And it won't get us a better coach.

Get it done Lew. We have faith in you!
