Realignment Today: 7:19 p.m. - Reports say UT, Texas Tech, OU and Okie State headed west; KU?

I think that whatever teams are left out in the cold by this should do the following:

1. Quit the NCAA

2. Form a new athletic association to rival the NCAA

3. Pay the players who come

Who's in?

This is a joke, but really is it that absurd?

KU athletic director Sheahon Zenger comments on the uncertain future of the Big 12

He sounds like a guy who has no clue what's going on. I feel bad for him.

He needs to be on the phone with every conference he can be. At this point, It sounds like any option is better than sticking around for another week.

I hope we end up in the PAC 16 with Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Kansas State.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State go to the SEC

We'll see

"I get it that the University thinks that the Kansas Relays are pretty cool, but do they know what would be even cooler than that?"

Analyzing the Danny Manning Effect

that's interesting. I would have thought that some of their offensive ratings would have dropped because of the improved big man play. Maybe you can see that with Taylor but there are so many outside influences with him, I don't know.

Analyzing the Danny Manning Effect

I agree. I think you could even justify the one instance of the offensive rating decreasing with Aldrich because of double teams and being the only major post threat. Maybe that is why you can attribute such a large jump for the Morris twins during that year. Same could be said Robinson this year. I think regardless, you can see that KU's big man are consistanly getting better and are the most consistant when comparing to other teams.

Analyzing the Danny Manning Effect

Very Interesting Jesse!! I'm just curious, but when doing this research, did you happen to look at the offensive rating of the guards during their 2nd and 3rd year. I would wonder with such a large jump between years 1 and 2 of the big men, did the offensive ratings of the guards drop of in year 2 and 3.

Thanks for doing this. I always look foward to the Newell Post

Recap: How an 'awful' performance still nets a 21-point win

I don't know what you people want. They go out and schedule UCLA, Memphis, and Arizona. I'll give you that when the games were set up that Arizona was not going to be the Arizona of old. But both of the other games were scheduled two years ago. At that point, you have no clue how good those team will be. Does it suck that they aren't where we thought they would be? Of course!! By the way, that "joke" of a team UCLA lost by one point. Also Memphis was ranked when we played them and will most likely still be ranked tomorrow.

Big 12 Conference lives on

Hey Matt,

First of all, Great Job over the last week covering this. I just wanted to add that according to espn, all 31 commissioners are supposed to report to the "Collegiate Commissioners Association’s annual meetings" in California tonight. Do you know anything about this?

Thanks again
