2006-2007 Jayhawks to be enshrined in KU Hall of Fame

It's not at all clear why a team that made it to the Elite 8 and lost belongs in a Hall of Fame.

Let's face it: This is not about objective evaluation of a team; it's a KUAD promo thing.

KU’s Elijah Johnson cautious at camp

It reminds me of that old saying, the polite version of which is "Screw up and move up."

But Dookie-Boy Snyder of low character? Why, Quinny is just out to further the academic achievements of his recruits! For example, consider Ricky Clemons "earning" 24 credit hours IN SUMMER SCHOOL at Barton County CC in order to "qualify" to play at Fizzou. What a sterling emphasis on academics by Dookie-Boy!

KU basketball player Ben McLemore enters into diversion agreement

"His attorney, Al Lopes, indicated three months ago that he had prepared to pursue a defense of entrapment and alleged an unknown woman bought McLemore the drink that he accepted but planned to dispose of it before drinking it. Prosecutors denied those allegations."

Reminds me of an old Cheech & Chong routine: "Your Honor, my client merely *found* these drugs.....and was on his way to the police station to turn them in at the time of his arrest."

Yeah, right.

Evan Manning to join KU as walk-on

I think Robinson will and should enter the draft, for the practical reason that he had a great year, and might actually slip in draft position if he stays. (See Sullinger, Jared.)

However, he has some weaknesses:

1) He showed in the Purdue game that he cannot defend on the perimeter. He wasn't called on to do that very much in college, but he'll have to do it all the time in the NBA.

2) I'd like to see a comprehensive shot chart of his from the second game on in the NCAA Tournament, and count the misses from within three feet of the basket -- against defenders and defenses that are not nearly as good as he'll see in the NBA.

3) He is still VERY slow at sensing, recognizing, and reacting to a double-team, and making the right pass out of it. (See Aldrich, Cole.) That may not be as much of a problem in the NBA, where he won't be double-teamed very often. (See Aldrich, Cole.)

The fanbois think that because he's one of ours, he's perfect, and no one should dare to say otherwise. The fact is that his game does have flaws. But given that idiot NBA general managers draft not on performance, but potential, Robinson will be a lottery pick, and should not take the risk of seeing his draft stock drop if he stays.
