Right-hand man

Joe recruiting from KANSAS on the East Coast?!?! I thought that was impossible, at least according to the previous administration.

Best year ever?

Why is this guy sticking a cigar in his mouth? Perkins didn't have any major influence in creating either football or basketball success. One could even argue the even more clueless Bohl lucked out in that football hiring decision.

Mayer: Big 12 comes around

It has been suspect to me that a huge and complicated field like a 64 (65) team, bracketed tourney, would (or could) be jumbled because of any game which finishes just hours earlier. Sunday afternoon finishes must be irrelevant in the big room.

And where you play has always been a debatable "advantage". The last time KU got to the FF, they were isolated in the toughest bracket in the West. Some coaches think (hoops)ala is a distraction of necessary evil.

Getting "there" is what matters. Sooner or later, if you want to win, you must, in a fashion, play every victor.

Seniors still trying to cope

So why are these kids required to have public scrutiny for personal issues?

Snub doesn't surprise KU signee

This kid is absolutely right on. The McDonald beauty pageants and their parasitic Internet groupies are invalid as (surprise) seventeen year olds can stop growing both mentally AND physically, while other teens DON'T.

Sometimes these hamburger AA's will have reached their peaks relative to the others around them. It helps also to be the only 6-3 player on the court. AND they're GREAT in AAU ball. Anyone is great where they don't bother with defense.

That's why it might be argued that JC prospects might be more valid representations of their potentials than 13 year olds. Of course when they're middle aged or have returned at twenty five from their missions is so much the better.

In his element

Re: "What Keegan Says" (print edition)

Someone should tell Keegan that Coach Knight doesn't WANT to coach anymore, as he is tired. Even a clever writer and basketball analyst like him could figure THAT out.

100 the hard way

Coach of the year (easily): Homer Drew's kid.

Resuscitated a corpse.

Bittersweet blowout

That's "medial" collateral ligament, not "medical". "Medial"-towards the mid-line. This injury hurts none-the-less and ligaments are frustrating in that they heal slow without a generous blood supply.

Blake is an outstanding talent, as I was dazzled by his performance from a complacent look at the OU/West Virginia bball game. As March performance is predicated on a competitive conference (why I would write-off Memphis off hand, and blaspheme the Little XI of Boy-Roy years), it would have been great to see this kid at AFH. And VERY useful for this team.

Scouts eye top Tiger

Is the 1952 KU team being honored tonight at AFH?
