Anderson to stay at Missouri
Not quite on topic, but in all of this, where is bentleytiger? You know, the annoying Memphis fan who posted on our board all year long about how great Memphis is and how they gave us last year's championship? When Memphis got Xavier Henry and Demarcus Cousins over KU, we heard it some more. And of course, we heard it after each loss of the season.
With Coach Cal leaving, and the exodus of the top recruits, I wonder where that leaves his beloved program. I don't wish ill on anyone, but I can't feel sorry for a cat that was so annoying.

Marcus proves mettle
What was up with Steve Lavin's Scarface & Al Pacino comments concerning Frank Martin? Did that strike anyone else as odd? I think his co-announcer (forgot the name) felt a little off too. I know it's not terribly game related, but it just stuck with me.

Cavs send Jackson to Erie of NBADL
gotta love D-Block. I can't pick a favorite player from last year's squad because there are too many good guys from that group. But....if I had to do it, Darnell Jackson would have to be the one.

Border bummer
Gotta give credit to the Mizzou players and fans. We had our chances, but they were tougher in the last 10 minutes. While I'm not happy with the result, it was awesome to see all of our kids playing their hearts out on the floor. No loss is a good loss, but hopefully we learn something from this and are ready the next time we face them.In the meantime, we follow this up with the 2nd most hostile crowd for us on Saturday. Let's be ready for the Wildcats!Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!!!

Kansas basketball notebook
Thank you Jaybate! Loved your post about the rivalry. My in-laws just don't get how heated it is, and how long it has existed (they are not from Kansas or Missouri). I still laugh when people say, "Isn't K-State your big rival?" I answer that K-State thinks we are their rival, but the feeling is not reciprocal. Sure, they are an in-state rival and we always want to beat them. But the real rival is Mizzou. I know we've got a tough game tonight at Paige Sports Arena, and I hope our team is up to the task.Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!!!

Conner Teahan=Troy Bolton from High School Musical?
I just watched it, and while I've never seen the HSM movies, I thought it was hilarious. At this point, it's just a matter of time before Misery and Puttytat fans rip this thing apart with all sorts of nasty comments. Let 'em. I'll encourage our student athletes to answer with our game play.

personally, I find this to be a very meritorious subject. It's not like anything else big is happening today. No change of leadership for a country, no, nothing like that ; ) [note to all -- I am being very sarcastic here....]

Well, well, look who’s back
Looking at how Mizzou annihilated Colorado and Iowa State, I'm glad we have 3 weeks before we play at Paige Sports Arena, I mean USC Trojan Graduate Arena, no wait, I mean Mizzou Arena. In all seriousness, they have dominated teams they should dominate, and I expect they'll bring that aggressive play when they face us. Our freshman/sophomores will have a tough time there, but it will be a good test for them. If our young guards can handle Mike Anderson's 40 Minutes of He**, I think it bodes well for the future.

Jaybate, just want to say thanks to you for your postings. I love the Jayhawks, and consider myself to be moderately knowledgeable about basketball. But, I learn so much from your comments about the players and the game. Thank you, and Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!
