They really need to go back to not having the OAD rule at all. Let kids jump to the NBA if they are ready coming out of H.S. So what if some fail. This keeps the system more honest than it currently is by far.
Kidding of course...and I don't mean to say that this article isn't relevant. But it came out early afternoon yesterday. Nothing new for me to read this morning at break!!!!
When Withey first arrived at KU and fans saw him for the first time in action, it left a lot of people scratching their heads and doubting he would ever contribute significant minutes. I know I was one of the doubters and boy was I wrong. I hope Mickelson comes in ready to work and transform himself into a premier defender.
Yep. With him sitting out a year, he will be able to practice with an elite team and workout with literally the finest weight trainer in all of college basketball. If he has the work ethic, Hudy will beef this guy up.
We were 1-11 last year if you didn't notice. I remain hopeful that Weis can turn things around though. I think like most that Heaps will be a big upgrade this year. Grunny better have that line in tip-top shape though.
Not trying to be arguementative, but there is a big difference between having 3-4 juco players on your roster and having 15-20 juco players on your roster which is what the original post is basically referencing. And so when he says "the juco route won't work", he isn't talking about coaches like Mack Brown or Bob Stoops because their rosters aren't filled with juco players. They are filled with top tier high school talent year in and year out. He's talking about people like Snyder who have transformed teams with juco recruiting. I'm not saying I agree with the original post, but I would say that time will tell whether this method will work for Weis or not. Hope it does.
You're putting Mack Brown and Bob Stoops in the same conversation with Bill Snyder when it comes to Juco recruiting? I don't think so... Neither Texas or Oklahoma have to fill voids with Juco recruiting. That's not to say they don't nab one every now and then, but they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence with what Snyder has done with the Juco world.

Here's what type of player KU is getting in Hunter Mickelson

Opinion: Speedy KU LB Heeney making up for time spent standing still
