FINAL: KU's defense collapses late in 31-17 loss to Nebraska

Its very sad the way this season has played out. What happens next season, and the season after that, and the season after that...? We're never going to have a football program like Florida or USC, but it would be nice to be a consistently quality program.

The coaching staff is going to have a completely different squad with entirely different personnel next year. We've been able to get better recruits over the last few years, so I think the next 2 years will make or break Mangino's career at KU.

FINAL: Daniel Thomas runs for 183 yards in KSU's 17-10 victory over KU

Its a sad state of affairs.

It was supposed to be a potentially great season, but now I can't even see us making it to a bowl game.

Reesing has been so great over the past 3 years, and what should have been a great season to finish off his great career looks like it going to end terribly.

There are lot of reasons why we've lost 4 in a row, poor tackling on defense, very questionable coaching moves, shotty offensive line play, complete lack of a running game, dropped passes by recievers, missed field goals, but obviously Reesing's play has been the biggest factor.

Here's the thing though - Reesing still gives us the best chance to win. Its a scary reality right now, I know. But Pick is clearly not ready and Meier hasn't played QB in 3 years.

Remember all, with the kind of defense we have its not like we can win with a QB who can be average, we need someone who can make plays. The only chance we have to finish going 2 and 1 and getting to another bowl is if Reesing can get out of his own head and the players around him can step it up a little.

After what he's done over the last 3 years, I would rather see us go 5 and 7 than see Ressing finish his career on the bench.

My biggest concern is what happens next year and the year after and the year after. Have we really crossed a threshold as a program where we can get enough good recruits to have a consistently good program? It remains to be seen.

KU football not ranked in USA Today preseason coaches poll

I can't wait to play Nebraska this year. Everybody seems to think that Nebraska is back. We'll help them better manage their expectations.

Xavier Henry calls news conference for 11:15 a.m. Thursday to announce college choice

HAHAHAHAHA!!! That's great rockchalk1984. Sadly, all the idiot UK fans bailed like a bunch of biatches and hos. Only the people who actually belong here will get to enjoy that remark.

Henry brothers close to making decision; father says no visit to Kentucky, but later says visit on tap

We're really comparing the demographics and income levels of the residents of Lawrence and Lexington. Now, I'm a gung ho, die hard KU fan, but this is absurd.

UK fans have just reduced themselves to the level of KState and Mizzou fans: Their school sucks so the focus their energy over talking smack on ours. Did I just feel the sales of Bucknell and Bradley T-shirts spike up too? Congrats UK fans, you are now officially losers.

God help me if I ever go to a UK site, or a Mizzou site, or a Memphis site, or a Duke site and talk trash. Thank god I have a real team to root for. Its good to be a Jayhawk.

As far as X goes, have at him. Calimari probably told CJ that he can make him an NBA star - that's why he's so hung up on Cal. Calimari leaves a grease stain when he walks down the street. He reeks of polmade and mortadella and BS.

We'll take Stephenson and the 2010 nat'l championship. You take the Henry's and another NIT birth. LOSERS!

In a game of 1 on 1, my money's on Lance. In fact, $50 says Lance makes X his biatch.

Xavier and CJ seem like chumps to me. Don't want 'em. Go on to UK, Memphis, or Tijuana Tech. KU doesn't need to wait on you.

Lance! Lance! Lance! Lance!

"Here we are about to land one of the best players in Jayhawk history"

Wow. Just wow.

He hasn't taken a single shot for KU.

We're already talking about him doing for us what Carmelo Anthony did for Syracuse.

If there's a guy out there that could have that effect its Lance Stephenson. I take it as a huge compliment to KU and to Coach Self that Stephenson is waiting on us and hasn't just pick another school already.

I'll be happy with eirther guy, but I would prefer Lance. He seems much more aggressive and competitive.

Either way, Carl Henry needs to either not answer the phone or simply say "no comment."

How about Sherron and Cole coming back? How about all those freshman coming back as sophomores? How about Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson? Hmm, we may still be a national championship contender without Henry, or Lance even.

God Dammit, when is Harrison Barnes going to hurry up and commit?

I'm sure that Self knows what he's doing, but man, I hope we don't end up empty handed. I say give the Henry's until 5pm on Wednesday, and if they can't commit, we pray that Lance Stephenson still wants to play for KU. Can you imagine what he's thinking right now? He is a stud and he's waiting to see what another kid does before his top choice school will let him commit. I've seen enough film on these guys, and I like Lance's game better. He's much more aggressive, a slasher, whereas Henry sits on the 3 point line a bit too much for a guy at 6'6".

By the way, didn't Julien Wright commit to KU without visiting the campus?
