Key Jayhawks not focused on discussing their futures at Kansas

Steve, when I look at all these teams in this tournament, I'm amazed by how many really good players just don't get noticed. Self has done remarkable work with players ranked outside the top 50. I'm more worried with this trend of signing players who never play. Preston made our recruiting class and never played.

There was a period when Kansas seemed to be ready to win two or three championships, I think Obama might have picked us three times, but it never happened and we've never been really close since 2012. Look at Calipari. Everyone thought the new recruiting rules were going to make Kentucky the 'Kings of One and Done's'. Successful enough for one title but surprisingly that's it.

I think Self has found himself in a recruiting war that Kansas isn't going to win. Steve is right in that we often land our best players near the end of the late signing period when players are looking for teams that will get them the most attention. They aren't coming to Kansas because of tradition. High school players just don't think like that. They are just as apt to want to start their own dynasty.

Braun has moved up to #96 and 'McBride is at #104 on Rivals. Both of these players have moved up significantly, only proving that Self knows what he is looking for and recognizes it often before any other coaches.

Still, continuing losing the best players in Kansas to other states is extremely frustrating. Lester Earl's son is going to Villanova. Now that would have been a notable recruit.

Semi Ojeleye may not have been as heralded as other Kansas players but the five-star recruit took his game to Duke before transferring to SMU and is now finishing his second year in the NBA. Maybe not great but on a year we desperately needed another big (which seems like every year now) he MIGHT have made a difference

Quick turnaround: Jayhawks embracing all aspects of rapid-pace preparation for Auburn

Villanova won two championships in the last three years. That's one more championship then the entire BIG12 since its inception. We do great against other conferences during the preseason conference play and normally plays above .500 when looking strictly at wins and losses but anyone who claims the BIG12 is a premier basketball conference is either kidding themselves or just not following common sense.

23 years and ONE championship.

It's Over: Kansas suffers 89-75 season-ending loss to Auburn in Round of 32

I think you skipped your meds. Were these 'sad' thoughts or a final passing shot at a few team members as the season ends. You don't decide who bleeds the right colored crimson.

Seriously. The season sucked on so many tangible reasons, there is no need for conspiracies theories.

Northeastern has 'more fire power' with 2 key rotation players back from injuries

Same. I needed to Google Northeastern and it isn't much as far as a tradition but regardless, a loss would be a tough pill to suffer. Not as tough as the one Virginia swallowed last year but still tough.

3-point D: KU was better by the numbers than you might think

Anything that works.

3-point D: KU was better by the numbers than you might think

I think Coach Self develops young talent better than anyone and has found himself in one of those wheels that hamsters love to run in trying to compete every year for the top talent. There's a lot to be said about continuity. Morningstar and Reed? Should have been a final four team and yes, having the Morris twins did not hurt

I see why you could look at it as you do but I'm still not sold. Give me a couple of weeks to think about it.

4th-seeded Jayhawks prepared for different path in this year's NCAA Tournament

Com' on man. I always do a complete homer bracket. I cannot not put KU on top - if that makes sense - it would kill me to have picked someone else unless it was for a lot of money. A minimum of $5.

It's either an 'A' for an NCAA title or an 'F' for anything else.

If NOTHING else, McCormack is going to be a beast next year. Unless academically ineligible, receiving illicit funds from alumni, or has recently just become aware of his rich uncle.
