Jankovich introduced at Illinois State
I don't think the players mind one bit. They respect and look up to Jankovich quite a bit. I read one Chicago Tribune reference that stated how pleased the players were at hearing the news.
And then factor in Danny Manning being announced to fill that void.
Believe me, this team has been dubbed very "unselfish." They actually respect the name on the front of that jersey and know what they are playing for this year.
You bring up a very good point mscyndi, but I have a feeling all is cool in that Jayhawk locker room.

Jayhawk fans hit the road
My friends and I travel each year to various non-Big XII cities to watch the Jayhawks play.
Every city we visit, I hear the hometown fans refer to the Jayhawks that made the visit as "The Sticker People." No joke, every city.
Great to know we're bringing 2,500 to Chicago!
First Rosemont saw the "Sticker People" for the DePaul game and now Chicago in the United Center! Yesssss!
Double the pleasure, double the fun in the Windy City!

It's about 600 miles from Lawrence to O'Hare.
I have been driving back and forth from Kansas City to the outlying suburbs in roughly 515 miles if you take I-35 to I-80. Great timing too...about 6 hours 10 minutes.

It's a great feeling driving down the Kennedy or Eisenhower Expressways and a fellow Jayhawk pulls up next to you honking their horn!
It's even better when we both cut-off the nearest car with Missouri license plates!!
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!

Wright eyes Chicago trip
I wouldn't worry about "chicago-area basketball fans" cheering for Self at all. There is such a HUGE KU alumni fan base in Chicago, it'll feel like a home court advantage.
I'll be there myself...Rock Chalk!

Keegan: Blowout no help for seed
Strength of schedule was lower this year because the BIG XII sucked this year.
C'mon now, Jayhawker_97:
- Oklahoma State (0-6 on the road)
- Oklahoma (waste of a season)
- Texas (barely ranked in top #25)
- A&M (that was actually a surprise, and we lost to them)
- Nebraska, Colorado, Mizzou, Iowa St., (what a joke)
We had no choice buy play some crappy non-conference games because of that Las Vegas Invitational, which thankfully resulted in a win against the then-#1 team.
But 3/4 of our schedule is against conference foes, which blew this year.
