Sweating buckets: Jayhawks survive scare from NU, 63-60

Perusing this morning's hoops headlines, I came across this dandy:

"Kansas struggles, survives at home against NU."

You just can't make this stuff up. Too funny!

Another KUpcake, another near loss. If KU can barely handle these caliber teams, at home none the less, then there will certainly be another quick exit for them when it really counts in March. A loss by the end of the first tourney weekend is certainly in their future, this year most likely by a 13 or a 14 seed in the first round. I can only hope that KU gets put in the Cats' region, because by default any region with KU in it will be the weakest.

Year-in and year-out, game-in and game-out, there is not a more over-hyped, underwhelming program in the U.S. than Kansas. Smoke and mirrors will not allow a team like this to do anything of substance when they come to play with the big boys in March.

Looking ahead to the next few games, I see that KU has at least one and probably two losses on the schedule. Guaranteed that Baylor will roll over Kansas, and no one would be shocked to see this suspect, KUpcake home winning streak come to an end against Texas. Oh, and I see that Colorado is playing better than KU too (how embarassing), so three straight losses is a distinct possibility. That type of streak should drop these KU pretenders like a rock in the polls.

Bwahahahaha!

How does it go again?

Gary Bedore's notebook: Mario Little to travel with team to Michigan

If the reports are accurate and young Mr. Daniels has decided to go to a program other than UK, the NCAA should absolutely investigate his recruitment. There is likely no way a player turns down the Cats unless there is some shady, under-the-table activity going on by the school that lands him. We in the Commonwealth can only hope the NCAA is as diligent in such an investigation as they were in wrongfully banning Enis Kanter from his right to play for UK.

It doesn't matter. If Daniels doesn't join UK and its history as the greatest program known to NCAA basketball, he will learn in November why he should have when the Cats roll over him and his weaker team.

FINAL: Morris twins combine for 38 in KU's 83-56 victory over Miami (Ohio)

Miami (Ohio)??? Seriously, please try to schedule some better competition in the future. If you want to be an elite program, you can't play cupcakes (or I guess it is KUpcakes) and conference also-rans during the pre-conference season. This will only prepare Kansas to be bounced once again in the NCAA tourney by the end of the first weekend.

I can only hope that KU gets placed in UK's bracket during the tourney. If by some miracle KU should make it far enough to play the Cats, that will mean two certain victories in 2011 for UK over KU...in March and in November. The locks of the year!

Report: Kentucky AD, Kansas native Mitch Barnhart finalist for KU position

Yes please!

Now this is one departure from Lexington that myself and the vast majority of the Blue Mist faithful would be more than happy to see. If Mitch wants to take a step down to a lesser program from an athletics department, academic, and conference affiliation standpoint, then so be it. Few here will get in his way.

He is probably only about the 25th most powerful person in UK athletics right now anyway. Mitch and his mouthpiece can go wherever they want as long as it is outside of the Lexington city limits.

Prep Ben McLemore visiting Mizzou

Absolutely outstanding news this week! It is looking very likely now that Coach Cal has worked his magic yet again and the talented Perry Ellis will be realizing his calling as a Wildcat in 2012.

Yet again proof that the nation's best can't help but come to Lexington once the Cats knock on their door. It doesn't matter in which backyard they may be.

Dallas prep LeBryan Nash chooses Oklahoma State

So how is that 2011 recruiting class coming along? Just outstanding if you are a fan of the Cats! So good in fact, we have already moved on to bringing in the top class for 2012...and 2013...and 2014 for that matter.

...and the beat goes on in Lexington. Enjoy fighting over the scraps the Cats leave on the dining room floor.

Nebraska to announce move to Big Ten

Wow! If the pathetically weak Pac-10 doesn’t even want a school like KU, I am glad we in the SEC aren’t going to touch it. Things must REALLY be bad in Kansas to be so toxic.

Yet another reason why UK will get only the best recruits and is here to rule college basketball for the coming decades.

Too bad, so sad for KU…NOT!

Oregon prep star dumps Washington for Kentucky

As per the usual, another story about the Wildcats here on this site. It is like clockwork. The Cats do something big and a lesser program website picks it up. We in Big Blue Nation again thank you for your support!

The top recruiting classes in 2009, 2010, and already for 2011. Coach Cal again proves he is the greatest coach and recruiter in the game today. All other coaches bow before his greatness. Add that to the greatest program in NCAA history and the future is so bright for the Cats that all the wannabes can only hate.

Haters hate and winners win. Keep on hatin' haters while UK continues to rule the college basketball world.
