KU's Chancellor issues statement putting support behind Lew Perkins
Regrettably, it's time for coach Mangino to go. He is responsible for the current downspin of the program, not Perkins or the players who are bringing issues to light. Perkins, whether you love or hate him, has brought about significant progress in KU athletics, and he has given Mangino warnings about his behavior over the past few years. Thanks to Mangino for his part in raising the football program to new heights, but this unsuccessful season and this current debacle are damaging. I believe Perkins' leadership and support has put KU football in position now to attract a proven coach who is also a person of high character. Let's do it, Lew.

Gary Bedore’s KU Basketball Notebook
This type of conjecture about players like Barnes is always interesting, but it is so irrelevant to the success of KU basketball. We (Bill Self) have done amazing things with the players who actually want to come to KU, so spending time worrying about those who might not want to come here is always frivolous at best. In some respects, it shows that some of us might have feelings of inferiority compared to other elite programs. Let's be KUPROUD.

Mangino won’t take date bait
IMO, this is the dumbest, most worthless article you've written for awhile. Why not a few background articles on players we don't know very well? Oh, right, that would take a little research.
I recently moved out of state and can't pick up the JTV basketball coverage. I have Direct TV. Can someone tell me if the ESPN Full Court will get me the early November games?

Self hits recruiting trail
I wonder if Perry Ellis' visit on the same weekend Duke is in town has anything to do with Duke's interest in him. Could it be that he might be planning to accidentally run into coach K, or another coach or the athletic director, eating a Big Mac at McDonalds in Lawrence? Probably not, but I'm just sayin....Conspiracy theory anyone?

Flourishing friendship
Wow! I was being very patient waiting for October, enjoying the football season. Now you have me so anxious for basketball I'm going to take a cold shower. ROCKCHALK

Mangino raves about true freshman McDougald
What is the chance that part of the reason Coach is raving about this kid is to prod Briscoe to try harder to earn the "top receiver" label? Can't wait to watch this team on the field.

KU football practice report: Aug. 11
Since I relocated to "sooie-pig" country a few months ago, I've been a little out of touch with jayhawk news. Has Quigley shown well enough to be firmly in the mix for a starting linebacker position? If so, that's awesome for the senior running back turned linebacker.

Kansas University basketball notebook
Ain't it great to be talking BB smack once again? Jaybate, "Bill Self has the greatest team in the history of college basketball" Easy now, it's a long season, don't hit your peak too early. But I'm with you, it sure feels good to look at this team's possibilities.
One more thing. I love the "lack of respect" tag, because it keeps a little chip on our shoulders.

KU men's basketball has Big 12 schedule released
Good schedule to get ready for March madness. Having just moved out of state, but within 50 miles of southeast Kansas, I'm hoping to pick up a channel for the Big 12 network games and nonconference games. If not, I'll have to go to plan B and purchase the full court. But it's worth it. RockChalk.

Anyone's tournament
Great play by Gary. This has to be one of the most thrilling times of his golfing life, and he's holding up well. I caught a few glimpses of him and with all of the golf coverage he'll probably get more TV time. Rock Chalk, Gary.
