Kansas has no chance
Having recently watched last year's game against North Carolina, it is easy to see that this year we are a one-hit wonder. It only works for Sherron to drive the lane if there are credible threats on the perimeter, or among the bigs. No surprise then when he gets blocked three times and intercepted once in the waning minutes against Baylor. When he leaves at the end of this season (risk of further injury means he must go for the NBA while he still has some value to them) we will be forced to become multi-dimensional again. It will take the cultivation of some Sashas and Darnells to complement our team of Tyshawn and Cole, if we have any hope of a return to the Final Four any time soon.

KU, MU reach agreement to continue Border War at Arrowhead through 2012
The Texas-OU game is not at a neutral site. A neutral site for that game would be to play it in Boulder. It may be closer to neutral, however, than Arrowhead for the simple reason that in the state of Texas, UT is not the only draw. I am sure there are Aggies, Bears, and Red Raiders pulling for OU in the same way we would cheer for any opponent of K-State. (And, as we all know, the largest county in Texas is Oklahoma.)I will never get used to Arrowhead being called a neutral site for a KU-MU game unless the following happens: sell tickets like it is a home game every other year. That is, 90% of the tickets in 2009 go to KU fans . That means that Chiefs season-ticket holders can't get a ticket, for it is common knowledge that more Chiefs fans are MU supporters than KU supporters. Maybe it doesn't sell out, but that stadium would look a lot better if it was full of KU Crimson and Blue (mainly Crimson against those red seats). It would also make available KU football tickets to a fan base that can only grow if they can buy tickets, even if just for one game.

Teacher defends allegations; Arthur 'frustrated'
The reason Arthur won't sue is because he doesn't want to have any grades, or the perception that he knew the changing of the grades, to be made public in the discovery phase of a suit. He has nothing to gain from such a suit. The only individual with a right to make his grades public is Arthur himself; anyone else doing so makes it a very serious breach of confidentiality. From my time on the BOE, I can assure you that none of us was privy to individual student grades, even in executive session. Ashmore has no integrity, and must believe he has nothing more to lose. I presume his teaching certificate in the state of TX has been suspended.

Self, KU invited to White House
If Self leaves, and I hope not, consider Turgeon ahead of Danny. The Brown idea is great, but Turg has Division 1 experience Danny doesn't, and Danny could still be there. If Self leaves, Lew should beat him out the door.

Gary Bedore's Kansas notebook
Danny has to be inducted into the HOF the same year as Vitale and Packer? What an insult!

Kansas basketball notebook
It would be nice if we were up enough with ten seconds left to put Rod in the game, pass the ball to him near the sideline, and then call time out, like Larry did in a game with Archie. Takes cooperation from the opposition. And no, I don't want to be doing it if we are behind.

Oddsmakers make North Carolina 9-5 favorite
I think I'd bet Memphis with those odds, if I weren't a KU fan.

Self reflects on Illinois
It strains credibility to think that a former AD is too busy "grading papers" to go see his school play in this game. He sounds like one of those guys in the other article.

Final(ly) Four
Use quickness and passes to get Hansbrough in foul trouble. That creates an entirely different demeanor in him. Guards penetrate and score or dish to create the fouls.
