Aldrich awes Kent State coach

He's probably more consistent this year. But I get the feeling he's going to step it up when there is a big time opposing center or forward to match up with. He turned into an animal against Tyler Hanjob. I think we'll see that guy again during the conference season.

What's the line on a triple double for him this year? pts/reb/blks

Did the BCS get it right?

The Big Twelve might've benefitted from Texas playing in the conference championship, because if they took care of Mizzou it would be tougher for Florida to jump Oklahoma, and they could've had an all-Big Twelve BCS championship.

KU hair better than 7-5

Nobody knew that Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma St. were going to be this good before the season. Most thought KU would get revenge on Texas, and take care of Tech too. Pre-season, most had Oklahoma, and S. Florida circled on the schedule as the most difficult games. You can't change the scheduling with knee jerk reactions. This year was the perfect storm, next year could be a down year, etc.

All this schedule talk gives me a headache. Keegan says, "Hey, KU didn't play Baylor". Well what makes him think we would've beaten Baylor. They were a much better team than Iowa St., and look at the trouble KU had with them. Plus, we didn't have to play Oklahoma St. either.

KU went 7-5. Which looks a hell of a lot like 7-5 to me.

Great year! Bring on the Big Eleven!

Which of these five KU big men was your favorite to watch?

Yeah, not really sure what the purpose of this poll is.

If you are throwing in Ostertag, why not Mark Randall? I thought Randall and Manning were the best on the most successful teams. I don't even consider Arthur as that much of a big man. He's an athletic forward who can't rebound. Big men rebound. I'd take Aldrich over Arthur. Aldrich may head this list, hands down, by the end of his career.

Overall? Stupid poll... next.

Self bemoans mistakes in loss

The Detroit Turkeys are earning their T-day contract again. Let's just be glad the Hawks don't have to play today, I wouldn't be able to stay awake for it.

I sleep now.

Huskies impressed by Kansas

Tyrone Appleton is actually Charlie Murphy.

He won't get much playing time unless Rick James says so.

Trip to Kansas City exciting for Orange

Well that beats "Saltine Warriors". But I still think the university is without any real identity. They were the Hilltoppers too. But decided that naming themselves after the school color was creative enough. Even though I don't believe they would've decided that if they had stuck with the original school colors. Pink and green.

I wonder what they'll be calling themselves in 20 years. Maybe "The Melos". Then they'll change their color to yellow, and Reymon the Lemon will be running up and down the sidelines wondering how the hell he got himself into this mess.

K-State makes it official: Snyder to coach Wildcats again

Martini: What does that have to do with you being a KU fan? As a KU fan, do you also hope Tennessee lands a 5 star head coach? Or that the price of tea in China drops? Have a Bombay Sapphire on me.

Anyway. I imagine Snyder was experiencing flu-like symptoms watching his program being run into the ground. So he's coming back to ease the pain.

No big deal. The only story within that story is whether or not Freeman will decide to return to play for Snyder. I mean at 69, Snyder is going to have to start recruiting for players he'll get to use when he's 73. That's old, man! You're getting into Paterno/Bowden land. But you'll never get Paterno/Bowden players go to The Little Apple. I don't see this as any more than a fire plug to keep his namesake from burning to the ground. Unfortunately for coach, I foresee a meltdown.
