KU fans hit the road

I'm sitting in my hotel room right now. Just got in about 3 a.m. I'm ready to party and watch a big win. Better get here today because it's cooling off tomorrow. Rock Chalk!

Booth's stint over as KU basketball announcer

Booth should have been fired for telling the students to stay off the field after the Nebraska game. Have a little common sense to see that no one is rushing the field.

Rush only a 'little stiff' after UA

After reading the headline, I thought this story was going to be about Rush taking a drug test.

Student attendance at UA game surprises Self

The ID's make it very hard to transfer tickets. Sure, it's easy if you are giving the ticket to someone you know. You can meet them at the Fieldhouse to transfer the ticket or give them your KUID. But what if you don't know the person? Are you going to trust them with your KUID? I doubt it. The paper tickets could only be used by someone with a KUID. If a few of those tickets were given to students who recently graduated, so what? They were still paid for by the student, and it's better than having 1000 empty seats. More money isn't better for the school at all costs, especially if tradition and home-court advantage have to be sacrificed.

New Jersey PF Quintrell Thomas commits to KU

He sounds like the perfect replacement for Darnell. Tough, hard-nosed, and willing to work for everything he gets.

Thrice as nice

I believe Southern Idaho is a Junior College, so Garrett would not have to sit out a year.

If I ruled the Final Four...

I definitely want to keep One Shining Moment, and I agree that the pre-Vandross version is better. I also agree about too many timeouts and commercials. I think the NCAA should make a rule that a coach's timeout becomes a tv timeout when a tv timeout is due. For example, there is 3:50 left in the game and there will be a tv timeout at the next whistle. However, one of the coaches calls a timeout. Instead of having that timeout plus the tv timeout at the next deadball, the coach's timeout becomes the tv timeout and saves us all some frustration. This way, teams that go 9 or 10 guys deep will be rewarded for their style of play. A team that relies on 5 players gets too many breaks with all of the timeouts. If a coach manages to recruit 9 all-americans to his team, he should be rewarded by having a depth advantage over a team with 5 players.

Gary Bedore's KU basketball notebook

The problem that players have when they don't play much is being in tune with the other players. When Stewart comes in early as he did on Monday, he can look a little out of the loop. He played well against Nebraska when he was on the floor with other reserves, because he plays with them every day in practice. When he gets in with the starters things seem to be a half-step off.

Kansas basketball notebook

At KSU, they hang banners for things like making the NCAA tournament. What a huge recruiting advantage it will be when players walk in to Bramlage and see "NCAA Tournament 2007". We'll be lucky if we ever land another blue-chip recruit.
