SG Kelly Oubre commits to Kansas basketball

Welcome to Jayhawk Nation Mr Oubre. I was on my feet with the rest at late night when they introduced the recruits. That " Jayhawk love" you felt is the real deal. This from a grad who has been enjoying AFH for more than 4 decades. Rock Chalk!!!

KU to look into 'ways to improve' procedures for Late Night

I was there with my invalid father and your post is spot on. As it was I had tickets in advance which meant nothing at the door. I also told an official you should open the doors for invalids now while it is safe. Not only did they ignore me, you could see and hear the crowd rushing towards Allen when it opened.
It was at least 5 minutes before we were allowed in-and the tunnels were packed. KU was very lucky nobody was hurt, and I feel bad for those who played by the rules waiting in line only to be left in the cold thanks to uncivilized jerks who don't respect others. I wish KU had a video of it all and could ID the guilty parties. I would like to see them banned from AFH for good.

Seeing red: Charlie Weis 'not content with anything' after KU's 54-16 loss to Texas Tech

I don't know why that font went bonkers. It reads like I'm shouting in the middle of my posts.
I haven't given up on our team, just stating what needs to be corrected.

Seeing red: Charlie Weis 'not content with anything' after KU's 54-16 loss to Texas Tech

Since I live in Houston I took the family to the Rice game. My guess was 3500 ku fans pulling hard for our team-made me proud. i was at the Ttech game this weekend, same thoughts about the game and fans. 25,000??? More like 35,000 at least. The West stands were full along with the bowl. The higher section on the East side and visitor section at the goal line were mostly empty. Maybe they gave away tickets and only counted sold, but I think we had at least 35,000 through the first half.

After watching two games...

#1. Our QB has a good arm, but can't scramble at all, and since our line can't give him time we need to run short out patterns frequently for 4 or 5 yards with a run mixed in and sometimes pass 5- 15 over the middle. When he is looking downfield he needs to let it go after 4 seconds. Also, It seems every screen play gets blown up!

In the 2nd quarter out defense started saging too much and let them make two long drives, but we got thought in the red zone and I was happy that only cost us 3 points.

The second half was a comedy of errors on both sides of the ball. I was sitting in a section of lettermen and we just got tired of the poor play-most left late in Q3.

I agree HCCW needs an OC. And if our punter doesn't understand the green light doesn't apply he has the option to run doesn't apply to 4th and 10 on your 19 yard line you and the special teams coach both don't belong in Div 1 ball. Actually our kickers are total studs- but they should know better and the special teams coach should say NOT NOW!!! Before he goes out to punt.

I knew the defense could not hold up once the offense was in 3 and out mode.

And cornerbacks. If all you can do is run beside a receiver in the end zone without looking back for the ball with your back to the ball then quit and let a real player replace you. Be an athlete. All you did was give him a Touchdown and the ball on the 2. Worthless effort and game killing tactics.

Nolan Cromwell would have something to tell you about that.

KU turns attention to stadium revamp

I was in the press box and several suites for the Relays. Seems nice enough as is.

KU turns attention to stadium revamp

Alpha-I don't get your first comment. I totally disagree with the second. So you would take the players and students off campus for home games? And how many students would get to see those games. There is tailgating in the parking lot SW corner. Traffic is bad true, but I don't see a solution to that.

Donors to get reserved seats at Late Night

16,300 seats, and 1,100 set aside for our biggest donors. That's over 15,000 free remaining.
I have zero problems with that. Big backers, I thank you!

Opinion: 7-footer Embiid rare talent among Kansas big men

In 1975 KU Track Coach made this prediction. In 20 years, soccer will be the most popular sport for kids in the USA, because all it takes is a soccer ball and open field. He was right on.

FINAL: KU's offense struggles in 23-14 loss to Rice

I was there too, close to the action. We had a great ku crowd backing our team.

I was impressed with our defense against Rice considering they gave A&M a good game for a while. That being said we had little pressure, very little pressure on the rice QB. But then again he released it fast when our QB held the ball too long numerous times. It doesn't look like he has any speed so he should throw it OB after he checks off 2 or 3 because he can't scramble. Our receivers have GOT TO MAKE CATCHES!!!!

Our running game was hit or miss. Both teams had 300 pounders on both sides of the line.
Rice has a good team this year, but I am concerned how our line will handle a better programs.

Anyway I enjoyed being with a good KU crowd cheering on the team. And the Rice fans were cool. RCJH!!! Lets get this program back on track.

Concrete work begins on Rock Chalk Park rec center; city hopes Bill Self event will open center next year

The track should have been southwest of AFH ON CAMPUS and combined with the soccer field there.

Lawrence money and politics won this one. Too bad for the athletes which will have to shuttle in every day back and forth adding at least 20 to 30 minutes to every day they train.
