KU AD Perkins meets with football players over concerns about coach Mark Mangino

Brent Venables might be a good choice too. He is a great recruiter and has been passed over TWICE by KSU. You know he would like to prove them wrong given the chance. Plus, he is an in-state guy. Rivalries mean zilch when it comes to getting a job.

It's not his health. Lew said it was a "personnel issue" brought to his attention by a player. Not "health", "personnel". That could be a lot of things.

Gary Patterson wouldn't leave TCU for KU. He's turned down better jobs already, unfortunately. We shouldn't speculate too much until more comes out.

Harrison Barnes chooses North Carolina

Oh well. Can't say I'm surprised. UNC will always be loaded as long as Roy is there and Michael Jordan pops up on capus duing high profile recruit visits. Kudos to them. Now we can at least turn our attention to Knight, Selby and Lamb. Dick Vitale is probably ecstatic.

Gary Bedore’s KU Basketball Notebook

Let me just say that I hope Barnes signs with KU with every fiber of my being, however, ESPNU announcements haven't been kind to KU so it almost seems like a death knell for our chances. The one thing that keeps hope in my heart is that Barnes visited "Late Night in the Phog" two years in a row. He's really familiar with KU and perhaps a shot to play with either Brandon Knight or Josh Selby is enticing enough to swing things towards KU. Fingers crossed.

Who is nation's "hottest" college basketball coach?

Really happy to see Anthony Grant listed. Loved the way he coached at VCU and as a Donovan apprentice, he is going to be dangerous in his return to the SEC at Alabama.

Meier could be answer

I agree with those saying that we should go with Pick if Reesing is out. Meier is a senior and our best possesion receiver. Pick is a sophomore who will be succeeding Reesing, so he could use this valuble experience if it comes down to it and Kerry would be a big part of that.

No. 1 recruit visiting Kansas

Well, if he is an elite defender, then he needs to look no firther than KU. All Bill needs to do is tell him how players that play defense get on the floor and he'd have to understand he'll start next season at the point. Collins is gone, and Taylor (who could leave too) and EJ are really 2-guards. He'd pretty much have the starting PG spot from day one surrounded by a still super talented team. Heck, imagine if he and Harrison Barnes commit ...

Jayhawks tapped No. 1

"Envy our past - fear our future."

Really, no one envys a basketball team that has to play in a town that smells like horse dung 365 days a year. In addition, the only people that should be fearing Kentucky's future are the Kentucky fans. Now that Cal is in charge, Kentucky, just like UMASS, Memphis and the New Jersey Nets, will regret hiring him for one reason or another.

KU football lands Fink

We can use all the defenders we can get, especially at linebacker.
