Stuckey named all-Big 12 first team
When the game is on the line and you need your QB to make a play, no one has been better then Reesing.
Just look at his record compared to others when having to come from behind in the 2nd half or 4th quarter. He has a positive winning record.
Mr. Daniel has a losing record.
As far as stats go, Briscoe is 2nd in the conference in total yards receiving for conference games only. Bryant is top. Briscoe is a big play receiver, too, by being near the top for Yards Per Catch in conference games.
For interceptions, Stuckey is tied for 1st in the conference for conference games only. He is 2nd in the conference among DBs for tackles in conference games.
Only Baylor played a harder conference schedule this year then KU.
For a real comparision, the discussion should only be what transpired in conference games, not non-conference games.

Reesing, Meier draw winning play in sand
The crowd was more like 60-40. I know that a lot of KU fans right around me were wearing rain coats and most of those were yellow fabric. So don't go by the color sitting in a seat.

Mangino: Loss of Talib is No. 1 problem
Last year's defense was geared to stop the run 1st - and they did at A&M, OSU, NU, KSU, etc.
This year they face 4 teams that run the spread (and a 5th next week) without a defense loaded with smaller fast LBs. NU is the lone exception yet they still spread out the defense then ran a bunch of big RBs (biggest in KU faced this year or last).
On top of McClinton and Talib being gone, KU's defense has had a lot more injuries this year and several guys are playing hurt - Mortensen (two knee surgeries), Rivera (leg), Richard Johnson (knee) , Blakesly (knee), Haselhorst (gone due to injuries), and Harper (concussion) - and have all missed games (or should have like Mortensen but losing Springer means he has to play).
That is the reality. A few LB prospects have not panned out like they thought and they are going to have to reload in this class - plus recruit a different type of LB. No more recruiting to stop the run but to stop the pass.

Civil lawsuit against KU basketball's Sherron Collins dropped
There is actually more here that has a bearing on the case then hesaid-shesaid statements.
It doesn't take much in terms of contact to transfer human DNA. Especially the type of contact he was accused of. Not only were tests ran looking for evidence of contact, but even more sensitive test were ran and nothing was found.
When only two witnesses are involved, this is more then a tie-breaker in the legal system. It is a slam dunk.

The usual suspects
Brady isn't going to be "taken inside" any more then a lot of former players. He has shown very good quickness to go along with being very court savy. The one thing he needed more then anything else was to get stronger and a little bigger to be able to battle on thefloor. He has done that.
Starting or the 1st off the bench. Brady will play very well this year. The one advantage he has over the newcomers is that he knows the system, how Self wants the "team" to play defense.

Aldrich has interests outside of hoops
And Wilt did keep his word about blocking his dunk. I don't remember if it was Elgin Baylor or Nate Thurmond but one of them did have their arm broken trying to stop a dunk by Wilt.

Kansas defensive backfield settled
I admire Harper to even return to practice after the injury scare he had. He is a better CB against teams that like to play physical with their WRs then the wideopen track meet like T-T.
I was very happy to see Anthony Davis see the field. He is a very physical and talented young player. I thought he held his own this weekend while he was in. I did figure he would end up at safety though as strong as he is and the way he would lay a hit in high school.

Early bowl projections
Arkansas was not a quality opponent last year and it made the Cotton Bowl a laughable matchup. Their team had quit even before their HC was fired and they played their bowl game under an interim coach.
Most of the MAC would have beaten Arkansas at the end of the season last year.

QB of the future?
Kerry Meier and Lawrence would both have to be down for the season before Pick would be brought in for a game.

'Make sure you make it'
We got very spoiled with the strength that Webb had in his kickoffs. Watching the KSU/UL game last night, kickoffs were frequently around the 10 yard line.
That is pretty much the average around the country except for the handful of kickers with a shot at going on to the NFL. Coaches have to decide whether to kick it high and a little shorter to get better coverage or kick it low and longer to get more distance.
