Bill Self, KU agree on contract through 2021-22 season

I have never been bored enough to read through his contract so I am not sure if he has such an incentive. BUT, I do know that during Self's time as head coach, his players have been one of the highest performing groups in all of college basketball.

An example of this is the fact that KU Men's Basketball has had a perfect APR score the last six years in a row!

Prosecutor alleges KU basketball players got pot from dealer

The NCAA doesn't even take the issue seriously. Schools are basically allowed to regulate it *anyway* they wish as long as they handle punishment consistently within the athletic program.

There was an article regarding this problem recently on ESPN.

Blog from the Prudential Center: Thomas Robinson selected 5th by Sacramento; Tyshawn Taylor taken 41st

It is gross, but come on, DC is a much bigger ghetto. Still an improvement from where he grew up.

There have been substantial rumors that the Kings ownership is trying to move the team. He might not be stuck there for more than a year or two.

I saw a comment in yesterday's blog asking why Self and Manning wouldn't be attending. I am also wondering why Self isn't going to be there?

Any information on that Matt?

Doc Sadler officially named director of basketball operations for KU men's basketball

This is a great hire. I always thought he was a very good coach who did the best with what he was given. Glad to have him be a part of the KU staff.

My reaction to last week's Champions Bowl announcement, plus some realignment links from the weekend

My one big problem with your post is the usage of "NCAA." The NCAA already garners almost no revenue from high-level college football as a result of the NCAA vs. Board of Regents of University of Oklahoma decision in 1984. While the NCAA remains saddled with the unenviable task of trying to enforce rules on the sport, it financial gains little to nothing. You might want to do some research into exactly what the NCAA's role in college football is, or if you do have this knowledge, use the right terminology. There is a reason why the championship is the 'BCS' championship after all and not the 'NCAA' championship! Just because other bloggers name drop the NCAA to blame all of college athletics woes doesn't make it factual.

The NCAA isn't going to lose out on anything directly by this happening, but the entire corporate sponsored bowl structure will. Judging by the corruption exhibited by recent allegations against officials of the Fiesta bowl, this probably would be a good thing. More money going to the university athletic programs themselves and less money going to the corporate bowl system is a good thing in my opinion.

T-Rob living large before NBA draft

It is not illegal.

There is no federal or state law that makes the mere act of storing US currency in a safety deposit box against the law.

Now if you are storing cash in your safety deposit box to further an illegal act, that is still illegal. An example of this would be using a safety deposit box to hide revenue from the IRS to avoid taxation.

Andrew White officially signs with KU men's basketball

Agreed, everything I have read about him makes him seem like a good kid.
