Former KU coach saddened by tragedy
Walkdog, for a long time I felt just like you did. I fell in love with the olympics in 1984, and by the next olympics I had realized how corporate they had become. I really didn't pay much attention to them for a long time. This time around, though, I'm really into watching them. I finally realized everything is ruined by corporations and TV networks, and I can't do anything about it. So I might as well watch great athletes from all over the world compete at the highest level.

Mangino spills punt-return plans
All of these punter comments sound like he's trying to light a fire under Rojas rear.

Time magazine cites Perkins as among best sports executives
Jacobpaul,What did he do to piss you off? Take away the prime seats you had for years without donating large chunks of money? That would piss me off too, but unfortunately that is the way it goes when you have to compete with Texas. I don't like the way big money dictates everything around us, but it has been that way for a long time, and it has finally found its way to KU.

Coach soaks up sun, golf benefit
I thought I heard one time that nobody wanted to play in canada because the income tax rate was so high. If you are about to be paid a few million, that might be important.

Rush, Arthur declare for 2008 NBA Draft
Kubsee69,I agree that the NBA sucks, but it is really big in a lot of the urban markets where there are teams. I had a buddy from LA, he lived and died with the Lakers, was so-so about the college game. Another friend of mine has lived in Phoenix for the past year, nobody even realized the NCAA's were on, all were focused on the Sun's. I could name several other examples. I don't get it, but it seems to be the way it is.

The Greene Room Live: Day One in Detroit
Ryan, How far does the stage extend from the edge of the court? It sounds a little dangerous if guys are diving out of bounds for loose balls.

Regional tickets available
Thank god for HDTV, or for that matter a 13" black and white TV, a radio, or even the recap in the next days paper. Any of these options is better than sitting a mile a way from the court and having part of your view blocked. 20,000 people is about the most that can reasonably watch a basketball game, and that is pushing it.
I used to always want to go to the final four, now I don't think I ever want to go unless I win really good seats.

Woodling: Roy still popular topic
radiohawk, I hope you're kidding. Padgett was here one year, and he transferred after trying to make a go of it with his new coach. I'm not a big fan of his, but my desire of wanting to beat him compared to beating unc is less than zero.
