Two Texas players de-commit from Kansas

I will tell you, I was AT that Nebraska game and, through a work connection, got to see some of the "behind the scenes" stuff, like the national championship trophy room and the lounge they've set up for the recruits, not to mention watching the game as part of their 34,234,885th consecutive home sellout. Like Chris Rock once said, I'm not saying that he should have decommitted, but I understand. :-)

New kickoff chant chosen to replace obscene one

Thank you, bmcmich1; I was wondering when somebody was going to point that out. Are we going to hold up the "#1" index finger as well? :-)

KU's Sasha Kaun to represent Russia in Olympics

What's most shocking to me is the revelation that J.R. Holden is Russian. I had no idea. :-)

Collins confirms entry into 2008 NFL Draft pool

It's sad to see him leave my favorite team, but my 2nd-favorite team (the Chiefs) could DEFINITELY use a guy like AC. Fingers crossed that they snatch him with that early 2nd-round pick...

Talib going to NFL

This is definitely an example of how coming back for one more year can make ALL the difference. 12 months ago, he was probably a 3rd-round pick. Now, with another solid season and a prime-time, nation-wide exhibition at the Orange Bowl, he's a solid first-rounder.

Congratulations, Aqib!

Texas DE gives pledge to Kansas

Has anyone seen the latest recruiting rankings for the state of Kansas? We're definitely doing better than KSU, but the top-tier kids aren't really even CONSIDERING either of us. That's one difference between us and Mizzou--they seem to be a little more successful keeping an in-state 4- or 5-star kid from bolting to the SEC or Pac-10 every now and then. I realize KU's littered with "2-star" kids that Mangino's coached-up and made into really good football players--imagine what he could do if he was coaching-up 4- and 5-star recruits! :-)

Mizzou best bet to help Kansas

I know it's been said a couple billion times, but bottom line, I think concerns about Mangino's weight (and, therefore, his health) is what is keeping him from being considered for some of these higher-profile jobs.

This is a business, and the difference between success and failure for some of those programs can be millions or even TENS of millions of dollars. That's why Nebraska fired a guy they just gave an extension to three months ago; I'm sure they'd like to have given Callahan a chance to "get it right" but they just couldn't afford to. Same with MM; because of the weight, he LOOKS like too big of a risk.

Keegan: Arrowhead aside, MU simply better

Actually, I believe this game would have been the week BEFORE OU-Texas (when we had a bye week) if it hadn't been moved to Arrowhead. Am I wrong on that?

Perkins not expecting Mangino to leave

I agree. That stadium in Stillwater has seat that look like they're RIGHT ON TOP of the field, and when they finish that bowl, that will be a very loud, intimidating place to play.

Perfect record leads to big bucks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember one of the Spodcasters saying the only reason the Mizzou game IS this weekend is because they moved it to Arrowhead. I'm pretty sure it was originally scheduled for what turned out to be the bye week we had before the K-State game, and based on that, this whole premise is flawed.
